GENERAL INFORMATION



The mission

The mission is to provide language training for a new type of Public Administration and Management system that know the state business language at a high level, implement knowledge and competences in the field of foreign language professional and intercultural communication.

Historical background

History of the chair:

  • date of its formation - 1996.

Stages of formation:

  • in 1996 English and French were taught;
  • since 1998 - German and Ukrainian have been taught as well.


Today Business Ukrainian in Public Administration, Professional Foreign Language in Public Administration, Foreign Language in Professional Activities, Professionally-oriented Foreign Language, Ukrainian Language (for professional purposes), Foreign Language (for professional purposes),

Foreign language in the Professional Activity of a Researcher of Public Management and Administering, Fundamentals of Scientific Speech (for graduate students), Methodological Support of Educational Activities, Art of Communication and Presentation of Scientific Results in a Foreign Language are taught.

The key to the success of the Chair is the uniqueness of the proposed methods; constant communication with the target audience and responding to its needs; combining innovations and traditions in language teaching to train a new generation of management and public administration professionals.

Heads of the department:

  • 1996-1997 - PhD of Philology, Docent P. Voitsekhovskii,
  • 1997-1998 - PhD of Pedagogical Sciences, Docent A. Haliuk (acting),
  • 1998-2001 - Doctor of Philology, Professor V. Taranets,
  • 2001-2012 - PhD of Philology, Docent T. Sazykina,
  • 2012 2015 - PhD of Philology, Docent I. Cherniaieva,
  • 2015 till now - PhD of Public Administration, Docent N. Kolisnichenko.

Achievements in dynamics:

  • in 1996 one PhD of Philology worked at the Chair;
  • in 2011 one doctor of philology and six PhDs worked at the Chair;
  • in 2019-2020 academic year the teaching staff consisted of 8 lecturers, including 4 PhDs, 2 Docents.


3 graduate students prepare their dissertation researches on Public Management and Administering with the help of the Chairs teaching staff.

Tasks

The main tasks of the chair of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair:

  • constant communication with the target audience and responding to its needs;
  • combining innovations and traditions in language teaching to train a new generation of management and public administration professionals.
