On August 28, 2020, representatives of the institute took part in a seminar Disinformation as an instrument of hybrid warfare: aspects of its spread and possibilities to counter propaganda. The event was held as part of the project Information wars against Ukraine and other European countries: Lithuanias experience in tackling propaganda, and funded under the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.

The workshop was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas (via video conferencing); Deputy Chairman of the Odesa Oblast Council Yuri Dimchoglo; Chair of the Center for Public Diplomacy, Ex-Vice Minister of Culture for European Integration Andrii Vitrenko; Deputy Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Michal Kaminski. During the event, reports were made by leaders of public organizations, experts on information security and communications, which revealed the problem of Russian information aggression against Ukraine and other European countries. In addition, the training on countermeasures at the local and state levels was carried out.

At the end of the event, the workshop participants thanked the organizers for developing practical skills in combating disinformation and propaganda. The representatives of the institute discussed opportunities for cooperation with the Center for Public Diplomacy and the organization of joint scientific and communicative events.
