On May 25, 2018, at the invitation of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Odessa, the Communication Department deputy head Tetiana Folgina and associate professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev attended the official reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. The reception took place in the German Evangelical Lutheran Church and was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian Embassy to Ukraine and the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Odesa and Odesa Oblast.
Speeches on the occasion of the Latvian state anniversary were held by the Head of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikans, as well as the representatives of public authorities: deputy head of the Odessa regional state administration Svitlana Shatalova, deputy head of the Odessa regional council Yurii Dimchoglo and acting Head of the Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Odessa Sergii Orlov.
After the official part of the event, an organ concert of the famous Latvian performer Liga Dejus, and a ceremonial reception with the participation of honorary guests took place. The ORIPA NAPA employees conveyed greetings on behalf of the institution leadership on the occasion of the anniversary date to the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikans and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Odesa Oleg Veretennikov and invited the Ambassador to visit the Institute.
