On May 25, 2018, Communications Department Deputy Head and Leading Specialist Tetyana Folgina and Andrii Maiev, as well as the In-Service Training Department State Order Seminars Organization Sector Head Natalia Pryvalova visited the festive reception dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
The event having been held at “Gardens of Victory” Concert Hall was attended by Mykolayiv Regional State Administration Head Oleksiy Savchenko, Kherson City Mayor Volodymyr Mykolayenko, Odesa City Deputy Mayor Pavlo Vugelman, clergy, political figures, foreign diplomats, higher educational institutions heads, businessmen, artists, journalists, and Odesa’s Georgian Diaspora representatives.
The Consul of Georgia in Odesa Tornike Berekashvili addressed the audience with a solemn speech. The diplomat emphasized that, even though the First Democratic Republic of Georgia had existed for quite a little time, it has played a crucial role for the future generations in their striving for independence the Georgian people acquired yet again many years later.
Mister Berekashvili, along with the officials representing the Consular District consisting of Odesa, Mykolayiv and Kherson regions, emphasized that Georgia and Ukraine had and still have a lot in common, and expressed their hoping on strengthening the bilateral relations and friendship between the Georgian and Ukrainian people.
The representatives of Odesa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine greeted the Consul of Georgia in Odesa with the National Holiday in behalf of the Institute’s Director, and assured him of their being ready to continue the cooperation.
The celebration was topped off with a festive firework.
