On April 14, 2018, Odessa Literature Museum hosted the Georgian-Ukrainian ‚ÄúMotherland ‚Äď Language ‚Äď Faith!‚ÄĚ patriotic event. The event was attended by the public servicemen, foreign diplomats, cultural figures, non-governmental organizations‚Äô and cultural societies‚Äô representatives. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by Public Administration and Regional Studies Department Associate Professor Nataliya Pirozhenko, Communications Department Deputy Head Tetyana Folgina, and the Department‚Äôs Head Specialist Andrii Maiev.
Georgian ‚ÄúIveria‚ÄĚ Cultural and Educational Center Head Shorena Gegeshidze, Consul of Georgia in Odessa Tornike Berekashvili, Odessa Regional State Administration Culture, Nationalities, Religions and Cultural Heritage Objects Protection Department Deputy Director Yaroslava Riznikova, Ukrainian and Georgian servicemen having fought for their countries‚Äô freedom addressed the audience with festive speeches. It was emphasized that the severe trials have not shaken a strong friendship between Georgia and Ukraine, and the both countries would undoubtedly pass through the difficult times, and renew their territorial integrity.
In the network of the meeting, a documentary about the tragic events having taken place in Tbilisi on April 9, 1989, was demonstrated, the amateur collectives performed Georgian and Ukrainian songs, and the children of Ukrainian and Georgian servicemen received presents.
The Institute‚Äôs representatives thanked the Consul of Georgia in Ukraine for the invitation to an interesting event, and expressed their hoping on the further cooperation.
