On March 12, 2018, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine welcomed the official delegation of the Public Administration Institute for Turkey and Middle East (TODAIE, Ankara City, Turkey) featuring Onur Ender Aslan, TODAIE General Director, Sutay Yavuz, Director of the Center for Foreign Relations, and Yevgeniya Gaber, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine to Turkey.
During the meeting with ORIPA NAPA Director Mykola Izha, the honorary guests were informed about the Institute's creation history, its structure, basic activity directions, staff's achievements, faculties and specialties, and international cooperation. The Instituteâ€™s Head especially emphasized the tight professional connections between ORIPA NAPA and the Consulate General of Turkey in Odessa, and expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine to Turkey having actively assisted the visit organization. In his turn, Onur Ender Aslan thanked for the opportunity to visit the Institute, get acquainted with its work, and told about his higher education establishment, which has successfully trained the public servants for Turkey and other countries since 1952. The parties discussed the bilateral cooperation opportunities, and reached preliminary agreements on holding joint communicative events, lecturers, masters and postgraduate students exchanges, publishing articles in the scientific journals. These arrangements were fixed via signing the Memorandum of Understanding.
In the network of the visit, Onur Ender Aslan and Sutay Yavuz held a meeting with the First Deputy Director Mykola Popov, visited the museum, educational offices, Distance Learning Center, concert hall, and the Regional Policy and Public Administering Department, as well as the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies one.
Afterwards, the Turkish delegation members visited Odessa City Hall, where they held a meeting with the First Deputy Mayor Anatoliy Orlovskiy and International Relations Department Head Svitlana Boyeva. At the meeting, the questions of the bilateral cooperation set-up, and the local self-government officialsâ€™ taking part in the educational programs by TODAIE were discussed.
On top of that, during their stay in Odessa, the Instituteâ€™s guests had a chance to get to know the cityâ€™s history and places of interest, and visit Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, as well.
