On November 21, 2017, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine greeted the delegation of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer (GUASS, Federal Republic of Germany). The delegation comprised of Professors Andreas Knorr, Christian Koch and Kai Messer, and the University's researcher Claudia Hipp. The German scientists held a meeting with the First Deputy Director of the Institute Mr. Mykola Popov, who sincerely greeted the Institute's guests, and emphasized the successful cooperation between the institutions, which has been active since 2009. From their side, the German delegation head Professor Andreas Knorr thanked for an opportunity to visit Odessa once again, and expressed his being satisfied with the results of the bilateral cooperation that allows the Institute's postgraduate students to be invited to take part in an internship in Speyer annually.
In the network of the visit, the GUASS' representatives presented lectures for the Institute's English-speaking students and postgraduate students, as follows: "From Kyoto to Paris: Much Ado About Nothing?" (A. Knorr), "Metropolitan Governance - The European Council Guidelines and Some Examples" (C. Koch), "Development of the Centers for Administrative Services, Integration of Social Services and Support of Internally Displaced Persons in the Oblasts of Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk - Lessons Learned?" (K. Masser).
After the presentations, the audience was offered an interactive "Marshmallow Challenge" game to develop the teamwork skills. The Ukrainian participants sincerely thanked the guests for their interesting presentations, and the opportunity to gain the new knowledge, and expressed their hopes to meet the guests again.
The representatives of the German partner institution also met the Economical and Financial Policy Department's postgraduate student Natalia Rozmaritsyna, who received an invitation to take part in a scientific internship in Speyer in December 2017. On top of that, the further steps considering the bilateral academic cooperation development in 2018 were discussed during a working meeting at the Communications Department.
