On September 8, 2017, the Agreement on Cooperation was solemnly signed between Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine and Baku International Multiculturalism Center on Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria Official Agency.
In the beginning of the festive ceremony having been participated by the administration representatives, structure departments heads, and the institution’s employees, the Institute Director Prof. M. Izha introduced the Head of the Official Agency – the famous public figure and former Ombudsman of Moldova Republic Mrs. Aurelia Grigoriu.
Prof. M. Izha singled out the importance of studying the Azerbaijani multiculturalism experience within the context of reaching the discharge and de-escalation of confrontation and tension in the world. On top of that, he emphasized that multiculturalism and tolerance ideas are essential for the modern Ukraine as well, and gave an example of Odessa region, where representatives of over a hundred nationalities live and peacefully coexist.
In her turn, Mrs. Grigoriu noted that the first Agreement of Cooperation between the Official Agency she heads and higher educational institutions has been signed with ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. She also stressed the importance of spreading the multiculturalism ideas, and expressed her readiness to develop the cooperation having been launched, and assist in establishing professional contacts with the establishments of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Cooperation Agreement having been signed is designed for a five-years-long term, and provides for holding round-table discussions, conferences and other cultural, scientific, educational and sports events, as well as carrying out joint projects. After the signing ceremony, the both sides expressed their mutual hope for successful and longstanding cooperation.
