On June 27, 2017, a delegation from Bialystok University (Poland) held a working visit to the Institute. The delegation comprised of Dr. Jaroslaw Matwiejuk, Rector's Proxy for Cooperation with Eastern European Universities, Piotr Bialas, MA, Coordinator for cooperation with partner countries at the program Erasmus+ KA 107, International Cooperation Office, and Emilian Aksiucik, MA, specialist at the Promotion Office.
The University representatives held a meeting with the Institute Director Dr., Professor Mykola Izha, who told the respectable guests about the Instituteâ€™s founding history and basic research directions. In his turn, Dr. Matwiejuk presented the Bialystok University and its Law Faculty, where over 4 000 are studying. The both sides expressed readiness to establish a mutually fruitful cooperation in the network of the Cooperation Agreement having been signed between the HEIs in 2015. In particular, the sides agreed on exchanging publications in the scientific editions, holding a joint winter school on public administration and law issues in 2017 â€“ 2018, inviting the partner HEIsâ€™ staff to take part in the conferences and other communicative events.
On top of that, during their stay at the Institute, the Polish delegation members had an opportunity to meet the scientific and pedagogic staff of the Regional Policy and Public Administration Department. The Department Head Tetyana I. Pakhomova sincerely greeted the guests, told them about the Departmentâ€™s work, and expressed her readiness to develop the cooperation. An agreement concerning the Polish specialistsâ€™ participation in the Departmentâ€™s scientific conference on regional policy issues in November 2017 has been reached, as well.
