Representatives of the Institute participated in the International Youth Forum

Between November 15 and 19, 2019 students of the Faculty of Public Management and Administering Darina Popova and Denys Kravchenko participated in the International Youth Forum Dialogue 2019 held in Batumi, Georgia. The event was funded by the LEPL Youth Regional Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic and brought together 50 representatives from 20 countries. The purpose of the forum was to create a platform for youth dialogue to communicate effectively and jointly address youth issues. During the event, representatives of the Institute were actively involved in discussing, identifying and finding solutions to youth policy issues. The project brought together representatives of different religions and cultures to create the right conditions for development and guarantees for accomplishing the creative potential of young people. At the end of the forum, Darina Popova and Denys Kravchenko received certificates.





Visit of the Royal Norwegian Honorary Consul

On November 20, 2019, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Odessa - Oleg Fomychov paid a working visit to the Institute. During the meeting with the head of the institution Mykola Izha, the Honorary Consul received information on the activities of the Institute, civil servants training, implementation of cultural and educational projects and international activities. The director of the institute made suggestions on starting bilateral cooperation with higher education institutions in Norway. For his part, Mr. Fomychov thanked for the invitation to the institute and expressed readiness to establish cooperation in the academic field. In addition, the Honorary Consul was introduced to the activities of the Institute and gave a lecture on the topic: Difficult is something that can be done immediately. The impossible needs a little more time. The participants of the event, including students, researchers and staff, learned about the history of the Scandinavian state, its prominent personalities, as well as investment projects implemented in Ukraine by Norwegian companies.





German urban expert delivered a lecture

On November 19, 2019, the Institute's bachelors and Ph.D. students met with Norbert Neuhaus Doctor of Economics, former Vice-Mayor of the German city of Trier, urban expert and author of the book Values of Christian Democracy. During the lecture, Dr. Neuhaus told the audience about his activities during his occupation as Vice-Mayor and revealed the basics of the concept of Areas of the Future: Housing, Work, and Vacation. During the meeting a constructive discussion was held between the German expert and the future managers on the possibilities of introducing foreign experience in the development of urban infrastructure in Ukraine.





The International Photo Exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China foundation was held at the institute

On November 6, 2019, the grand opening of the International Photo Exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China took place at the institute which was the second institution in the city honored to host it. The Director of the ORIPA NAPA Mykola Izha opened the event with a welcome speech. He emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the PRC, and thanked the representatives of the Consulate General of the PRC in Odessa for fruitful cooperation, which has lasted for more than 12 years. He also noted that during his visits to China in 2013, 2014 and 2018, he was able to assess the rapid development and prosperity of the Chinese people made possible by wise leadership decisions and diligent work. Vice-Consul General Mrs. Chen Yuyuzun visited the Institute to open the photo exhibition. In her speech, the diplomat said that the photo-exposition reveals significant events in China's history: political and economic reforms, as well as scientific achievements that have influenced the world economy. Mrs. Chen Yuyuzun also conducted a tour for the attendees, explaining in detail the events depicted in the photos and their significance for the Chinese people. Representatives of the consulate, deputy directors, deans of faculties, students and staff of the institute also participated in the event.





The director of the institute opened the event, organized jointly with the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On November 4, 2019 the training module Foreign Policy of Ukraine and features of cooperation with international partners, organized jointly with the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was opened at the institute. The event was attended by employees of Vinnytsa, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi oblast state administrations and local self-government bodies involved in external relations as well as the institutes staff. The seminar was opened by the Director of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Mykola Izha and the Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the MFA Yevgeniya Gaber. In his welcoming speech Mykola Izha emphasized that this event is the first stage of realization of the Cooperation Agreement between the institute and the Diplomatic Academy and thanked Mrs. Gaber for the initiative on partnership between the institutions. He also emphasized the relevance of the training program for understanding the geopolitical situation and the basic principles of Ukraine's foreign policy. In her turn, Yevgeniya Gaber greeted the participants of the seminar, thanked for the opportunity to implement joint projects at the institute and wished productive work. The purpose of the two-day study module is to train public officials in strategic communication skills, implementation of international projects, conducting high-level international events and more.





The director of the Institute celebrated the 96th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic

On October 29, 2019, at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Odessa, Director of the Institute Mykola Izha and the representatives of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova and Andrii Maiev, attended a reception on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. Among the guests of the event at the Bristol Hotel were representatives of public authorities, diplomatic missions, higher education institutions, and the media. During the official part, the solemn speeches were delivered by the Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Odessa, Mr. Sadin Ayildiz and representatives of public authorities. Mykola Izha personally congratulated the Consul General on the national holiday, noted the importance of the Institute's cooperation with its Turkish partners and expressed his hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation





The Institute joined the discussion on Euro-Atlantic integration

On October 23, at the invitation of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Odesa and Odesa region, Mr. Oleh Veretennikov, the representatives of the International Cooperation Department took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia.

International Scientific - Practical Conference Civil Service: Current State and Prospects for Development

On October 22-23, 2019, the Dean of the Public Management and Administering Faculty Ihor Kuspliak, participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference Civil Service: Current State and Prospects for Development held in Minsk (Belarus). The conference was organized by the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter ? the Academy) together with the Astana Hub in the field of public service and the Council of Europe.





Director of Alliance Francaise in Odessa visited the Institute

On October 21, 2019, Polina Bilous, Director of Alliance Frances in Odesa, paid a working visit to the Institute. During the meeting with the institution director Mykola Izha, the head of the French organization received information about the activities of the Institute, current challenges in the field of civil servants training, implementation of cultural and educational projects and international contacts. The importance of continuing the cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA and its French partners, which was always supported by the French Embassy in Ukraine and the Alliance Francaise in Odesa, was particularly emphasized. Mykola Izha expressed proposals for intensification of bilateral cooperation concerning the involvement of French interns, video conferences, photo exhibitions related to the culture of France, visits of French diplomats, public officials and scientists, etc.





Foreign scientists participated in the Institute's annual conference

On October 11, 2019, the representatives of partner institutions Bogdan Stefanachi and Simona Vranceanu (Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania), Tatiana Tofan and Tatiana Saptefrati (The Academy of Public Administration in the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau) visited the Institute. The purpose of the visit was to participate in the All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference Public Administration: Traditions, Innovations, Global Trends, which was held on the basis of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine, traditionally uniting leading scientists and practitioners from public authorities.





International videoconference was held at the institute

On October 09, 2019 a round table was held in the format of a videoconference between the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine and the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The Director of the Institute Mykola Izha and the Rector of the Academy Palchyk Henadzi addressed with greetings from the Ukrainian and Belarusian sides. They welcomed all the participants of the event, thanked them and praised the cooperation that has been implemented under the bilateral Agreement between educational institutions.





Representative of the institute took part in the educational forum of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine

Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine On October 03-04, 2019 at the invitation of the Ukrainian Reforms Education Center, Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova participated in the Forum of the European Union Networks and the Euroschool, which was held in Kyiv. During the event, participants had the opportunity to talk with the officials of the EU, its Member States, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and independent experts. The newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, was invited to open the Forum and delivered a welcoming speech. Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Hanna Novosad, as well as the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema were the guests of the event and participated in the panel discussion EU and Ukraine in an era of changes. The event was moderated by Volodymyr Yermolenko, a participant in EUVP programs, an expert at Internews-Ukraine. During the project, EU opportunities in various fields, in particular the new grant educational programs were presented. The participants of the Forum also joined the work in different sections and presented their own vision of educational reforms. At the end of the Forum, Nataliia Nefodova had the opportunity to talk with the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, and discuss the possibilities of further cooperation.





The institute was represented at the International Francophone Conference

On October 03-04, 2019 Associate Professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev took part in the Third International Francophone Conference in Ukraine, held at the Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University. The event brought together more than 200 scientists from 20 countries. The ORIPA NAPA representative made a presentation at the sections of law, political and social sciences and received a diploma of a conference participant.





Director of the institute visited the solemn event on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China foundation

On September 26, 2019, a solemn reception was held at the Bristol Hotel to mark the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China foundation. The Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova and Associate Professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev took part in the festive reception organized by the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odesa. After performing the hymns of China and Ukraine, the speech was held by Consul General of the People`s Republic of China in Odesa Sun Liucun. The diplomat emphasized that the creation of the state in 1949 was a great importance for the entire Chinese people, and noted that the People's Republic of China from a backward agrarian country became one of the world leaders. The achievements of modern China were demonstrated in a small video story Chinese Dream.





Representatives of the Institute visited the Jewish Cultural Center Beit Grand

On September 19, 2019, the representatives of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefeodova and Daria Suslina visited an event organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Odessa together with the Odessa Regional Association of Jews Former Prisoners of Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camps. The event was held at the Jewish Cultural Center Beit Grand. The occasion was dedicated to commemorating the victims of the Jewish peoples tragedy during the Holocaust and the nobility of those who helped them to survive. At the commencement of the event, the audience was greeted, by the Consul General of Turkey in Odessa, Sadin Ayyildiz, and the Chairman of Odessa Regional Association of Jews Former Prisoners of the Ghetto and Nazi Concentration Camps Roman Shvartsman. The guests were offered a viewing of the documentary "Turkish Passport", which is dedicated to the stories of Turkish diplomats who, by the risking of their lives, saved many Jews people during World War II. Upon completion of the event, the representatives of the International Cooperation Department, on behalf of the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, expressed their condolences to the representatives of the Jewish Diaspora and thanked the Consul General of Turkey in Odessa for the invitation.





Visit of Polish educators to the institute

From 02 to 09 September 2019, the representatives of the Institute of Law, Administration and Management of the University named after Jan Dlugosz in Czestochowa (Poland) passed an internship in the Institute. The delegation included the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Ewelina Zelasko-Makowska, the Deputy Dean, Dr. Monika Bartnik, and the doctoral student of the institution Marek Makowski. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in public administration, as well as to present and discuss proposals for cooperation between higher education institutions.





The II Ukrainian-Polish Autumn School was held at the Institute

Between September 9-13, 2019, the Institute hosted the II Ukrainian-Polish Autumn School, which was implemented within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement with the University of Bialystok (Poland). On September 9, at the grand opening of the event, which was attended by eight representatives of the Polish HEI, the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Technologies Violetta Vishnevska and Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefedova addressed to the participants with welcoming speeches. From the Polish side, the audience was greeted and wished the productive work by Dr. Jaroslaw Matwiejuk Rector's Proxy for Cooperation with Eastern European Universities.





Representatives of the Institute took part in the international summer school in Germany

From 05 to 16 August, 2019, the representatives of the Institute participated in the summer school Public Administration in a Multilevel System. The project was implemented in the framework of a joint masters program between the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer (Germany) and the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia). The summer school was funded by Federal Foreign Office and Volkswagen Foundation. 50 young professionals from Ukraine, Germany and Georgia, including students, graduate students and staff members of the Institute took part in the program, which was conducted at the German University.





Representatives of the Institute visited the Odessa City Council


On July 26, 2019, representatives of the International Cooperation Department, as well as Carlotta Jost a student of Munich FOM University of Applied Sciences (Germany), currently intern in the institute, visited the Odessa City Council. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the structure of the executive bodies of the city council and the main directions of the institution's activity.
Carlotta Jost student of the dual education system and works at the Munich City Administration. Due to this, during the meeting, German intern and representatives of the International Cooperation and Marketing Department of the Odesa City Council had the opportunity to exchange working experience of local self-government bodies in Ukraine and Germany. Conclusively, Ukrainian colleagues made an excursion, told about the history of creation and functioning of the City Council building.





Solemn signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the All-Ukrainian Center for Bulgarian Culture in Odessa and the Institute


On July 24, 2019, the solemn signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the All-Ukrainian Center of Bulgarian Culture in Odessa and the Odessa Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine took place.





Representative of the institute took part in Shanghai Visiting Program for Young Sinologists 2019(VPYS 2019 in Shanghai)


On the June 16 to July 6, 2019, the associate professor of the State Studies and Law Department Ielyzaveta Lvova successfully completed the courses at the Programs of Exchanges for Young Sinologists at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (Shanghai, the Peoples Republic of China).





Representatives of the institute took part in the international summer school in Germany


From 17 to 25 June 2019, representatives of the Institute participated in the German-Ukrainian-Kazakh Summer School "Crisis and Reforms, Rule of Law and Democracy" in Berlin (Germany).
The educational event was conducted in the partner institution the Higher School of Economics and Law with funding of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).





Director of the Institute visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey


On July 15, 2019, the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha and the Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Odesa to commemorate during the Turkish military putsch. Among the attendees, there were also some representatives of public authorities, diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and mass media.
At the beginning of the event, representatives of public authorities expressed condolences to the Turkish people and emphasized their courage and love to their country during the events of July 15-16, 2016. In turn, the Consul General of Turkey, Sadin Ayyildiz, thanked the attendees for their support and briefed the participants on the coup attempt and its tragic consequences.
Upon completion of the event, the Director of the institute, Mykola Izha, signed the request and wished peaceful future for citizens of the Republic of Turkey.




Representatives of the Institute visited the event European educational programs for Ukraine and opportunities for cooperation with the Delegation of the EU to Ukraine


On July 4, 2019, a meeting of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine took place, which was held in the Odesa Regional State Administration. It was attended by the Representatives of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa Regional State Administration and Odesa educational institutions. The event took place within the framework of the information campaign Building Europe in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the International Cooperation Department Natalia Nefodova and Daria Suslina, as well as Svitlana Ovcharenko, Professor of the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies Department, and Victor Komarovskyi, associate professor of the Global Studies, European Integration and State Security Management Department.
The event was opened by Evgeniya Volynets, Director of the Investments, International and Interregional Cooperation Department of the Odesa Regional State Administration, after which the staff of the EU Delegation to Ukraine delivered presentations, the main objective of which was to raise awareness among European scientists about the policy of the European Union and the opportunities for higher education in Europe.
Upon completion of the event, a lively discussion took place between the participants, after which the representatives of the institute received certificates of the Delegation of the EU in Ukraine.




The student of the institute joined the German-American summer school


In May-June 2019, the Management and Public Administering Faculty student Victoria Demidchik-Asarzhi participated in the international summer school "On the Rhine" (OTR), based at the German University of Administrative Sciences, Speyer (Germany). The Sol Price School of Government at the University of Southern California (USA) and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University (USA) were the co-organizers of the event.
During the summer school the participants attended the courses of European integration, public policy, public administration, and German federalism.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the representative of the institute also visited the main European Union institutions in Brussels and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The program for the multinational delegation included cultural leisure activities: a tour of Berlin and historical and cultural monuments, visits to the Bundestag and the Holocaust Memorial.
At the end of the summer school Victoria Demidchik-Asarzhi received six credits and a certificate. The acquired knowledge will be used while writing the master's thesis.




Director of the Institute visited the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa


On June 27, 2019, the Director of the Institute, Mykola Izha, visited the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa where he met the head of the diplomatic mission, Mr. Sun Liucun and the staff members Mrs. Chen Yuyuzun and Mr. Wu Mengnan.
From the side of ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine, the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Director Mykola Popov, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova and Associate professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev.
Mykola Izha informed Chinese diplomats on the main events that took place in the institute in the recent period and noted the successful visit of the Beijing Administrative Institute delegation to Odessa in June 2019.
The Director expressed his sincere gratitude for the support by the Consulate General for cooperation with Chinese partners and the participation of the institution representatives in educational and scientific visits to China.
Both sides expressed their hopes for further development of bilateral cooperation in different directions.

On June 25, 2019, the solemn signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Consulate of Georgia in Odessa, the Georgian Cultural and Educational Center Iveria and the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine took place. The event was attended by Mykola Izha - Director of the Institute, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Tornike Berekashvili Consul-Head of the Consulate of Georgia in Odessa, Shorena Gegeshidze Head of the Georgian Cultural and Educational Center Iveria, Tetiana Folhina Head of Communication Department, Nataliia Nefodova Acting Head of International Cooperation Department and Anastasiia Rokotianska Leading Specialist of the Regional Policy and Public Administration Department.




A round table Experience of civil servants training in Ukraine and China was held at the Institute

On June 19, 2019, during a visit of the Beijing Administration Institute (BAI) delegation to the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine a round table was held on the topic Experience of civil servants training in Ukraine and China. The event was attended by Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, Vice President of BAI Mr. Wu Bing, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa Mr. Sun Liucun, Officer-in-Charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Odessa Serhii Orlov, as well as teaching staff and graduate students of partner institutions. The event was opened by the director of the institute, Mykola Izha, who congratulated the participants, noted the importance of the partnership with the BAI and emphasized the role of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in establishing bilateral contacts, which resulted in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2013. In turn, Mr. Wu Bing thanked for the invitation and rich program, and also emphasized the relevance of the round table theme. Mr. Sun Liucun and Serhii Orlov, who also made salutatory speeches, wished productive work and promised to continue to promote the development of educational projects. Vice President Mr. Wu Bing and Mrs. Yu Shuping were the main speakers at the event. They spoke about the peculiarities of civil servants training in BAI and the library's work, as well as answered questions from the audience. Summing up, the moderator of the round table, the director of the institute, Mykola Izha thanked the participants for their active work and expressed his hope for further development of the cooperation with the Chinese partners.

On June 18, 2019, at the invitation of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (DAU), the Institute representatives: associate professors of the Global Studies, European Integration and Security Management Department Nataliia Kaduk and Olena Kryvtsova, as well as a Leading Specialist of the International Cooperation Department Daria Suslina visited a round table on the topic Regional Projections of Global Transformations.





Delegation of the Beijing Administration Institute visited Odessa

From June 15 to June 19, 2019 the delegation of the Beijing Administration Institute (hereinafter - BAI) paid a working visit to the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. The delegation consisted of six people, headed by the Vice President of the institution, Mr. Wu Bing. On June 16, the delegation members were invited to a meeting with the Director of the institute Professor Mykola Izha. He sincerely greeted the Chinese guests, acquainted them with the visit program and expressed his hope for its successful realization. The head of the institute provided information on the system of civil servants training in Ukraine, the main directions of activity of the National Academy of Public Administration and its regional institutes. Mykola Izha emphasized the importance of developing international cooperation and noted the dynamic development of the relations with Chinese partners.




The director of the Institute met with the General Consul of Greece in Odesa

On Jun 10, 2019, the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha met with the Consul General of Greece in Odessa, Mr. Alexios-Marios Lberopulos. During the meeting, the head of the institute thanked for the invitation to the ceremonial reception on the occasion of the National holiday of Greece. Besides Mykola Izha provided information on the system of training of managerial staff in Ukraine and the main directions of activity of higher education institution. On his part, the Consul General thanked for the invitation to the institute and expressed his willingness for established cooperation in the academic field during his diplomatic mission in Odessa. During the meeting were discussed the directions of development of cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Consulate General. After the meeting, First Deputy Director Mykola Popov and Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova introduced the Greece diplomat to the technical facilities and the educational process of the institute.






The delegation of the institute visited the University of Bialystok

On May 19 26, 2019, the group of representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine in a group of 8 people, studied at the III Polish-Ukrainian Law Spring School at Bialystok City University, which was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between partner institutions. The delegation included associate professor of the Department of Management of Organizations Natalia Akimenko, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Andrey Mayev, post-graduate students and students of the Faculty of Management and Business Technologies.






The director of the institute had visited an official reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia

On May 24, 2019, at the invitation of the Consul of Georgia in Odessa, the director of the institute Mykola Izha and Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova took part in festive reception on the Independence Day of Georgia. The event was held at the summer garden of the House of Scientists. The guests of the event were representatives of public authorities, foreign diplomatic missions, HEI, clergy, mass media, as well as representatives of the Georgian diaspora in Odessa. Speeches on the occasion of the public holiday were held by the Consul of Georgia in Odessa Tornike Berekashvili as well as the representatives of public authorities of the south of Ukraine: deputy head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Svetlana Shatalova, Deputy Mayor of Odesa Pavlo Vuhelman, Ukraines MFA representative in Odesa Sergey Orlov, as well as Agafangel Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail. They wished the development and further strengthening of bilateral relations and friendship between the Georgian and Ukrainian peoples. A concert with traditional songs and dances was organized for the guests of the holiday to get acquainted with the original culture of Georgia. Mykola Izha personally congratulated the Consul on a state holiday, and noted the importance of the Institute's cooperation with Georgian partners, in particular the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University






Representative of the institute took part in Shanghai Visiting Program for Young Sinologists 2019 (VPYS 2019 in Shanghai)

On thr June 16 to July 6, 2019, the associate professor of the State Studies and Law Department Ielyzaveta Lvova successfully completed the courses at the Programs of Exchanges for Young Sinologists at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (Shanghai, the Peoples Republic of China).






Director of the Institute met with representatives of the University Dunarea de Jos (Galati, Romania)

On May 28, 2019, the director of the institute Mykola Izha held a working meeting with the scientists of the University Dunarea de Jos. The Romanian delegation included the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences Professor Florin Tudor and a professor of the Administrative Sciences and Regional Studies Department, Dr. Valentina Cornea. From the side of the institute, the meeting was attended by First Deputy Director Mykola Popov, Dean of the Faculty of Public Management and Administration IGOR KUSPLYAK, Head of the Department of Public Administration and Regional Studies Liudmyla Prykhodchenko, Head of the Department of Regional Policy and Public Administration Tetyana Pakhomova, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova and Associate Professor of the Department of Global studies, European Integration and State Security Management Viktor Komarovsky. During the meeting, the representatives of the institutions discussed the development of international academic cooperation through the implementation of scientific projects, and also noted the importance of cooperation in the field of interdisciplinary research. Mykola Izha especially emphasized the presence of practical results of cooperation between partner institutions in the form of joint monographs and expressed his hope for its further development. Representatives of the Romanian delegation met with the scientists of the departments of the Institute to present a joint scientific monograph Public Administration and Practice of Local Development of Eastern Partnership Countries, as well as discussed proposals for joint projects. According to the results of the visit, both sides expressed their gratitude for productive cooperation and hopes for the successful implementation of the reached agreements.






As part of the Erasmus + Staff Mobility For Teaching project, professors from the Project Management Department present a course of open lectures for students from the University of Gdansk.

From 20 to 24 of May, 2019, within the framework of the Erasmus + Staff Mobility For Teaching project, the representatives of the project management department of the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine were presenting a course of open lectures on sustainable tourism for resort and tourist destinations for Polish students. The head of the department, Dr. in Public Administration, Professor Tetyana Bezvergunyuk and doctor of medical sciences, professor of the department Irina Babova presented lectures to the students of the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography of the University of Gdansk (Poland) on the use of project management tools in spatial planning of coastal areas for the development of resort and tourist Destinations. The Ukrainian partners of the project noted the comfort and high development of the university's infrastructure, a flexible schedule of classes that allows professors and students to pay maximum attention to preparation for classes, as well as technical equipment and the motivation potential of the university library. The visit of the Odesa delegation to Gdansk is long term cooperation between the project management department and the Polish university. One of the results of the partnership was the second International Scientific and Practical Seminar "Spatial Planning of the Maritime Territories: Experience of Poland and Ukraine in the Development of Resort and Tourist Destinations", which took place in ORIPA NAPA 13 - 16 of May.






The representative of the institute took part in a solemn ceremony with the participation of representatives of the Republic of Latvia

On the 21st of May 2019, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova at the invitation of the Odessa Oblast State Administration took part in the event, during which was signed the Agreement on cooperation between the Odessa Oblast State Administration and the Development Council of the Vidzeme region planning the Republic of Latvia. The event, organized by the Department of Investments, International and Interregional Cooperation, of OOSA, was held on the basis of the Receptions Hall of the Odessa Oblast Council. The ceremony of signing was started by the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Serhii Koleboshin, who thanked Latvia for always keeping a solid partner in supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Ukrainian state. In the turn, the guests were congratulated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine, Juris Poikans and the Chairman of the Council for the development of the Vidzeme Region, the planning of the Republic of Latvia, Hardis Vents. They also emphasized the potential of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. The moderators of the meeting were the Director of the Department of Investments, International and Interregional Cooperation OOSA, Evgenia Volynets and the Head of the ME "Bureau of Regional Development" Oleg Kopytchuk. After welcoming speeches from both sides Serhii Koleboshin together with Hardis Vents signed the Cooperation Agreement. During the event, the sides also discussed the areas of cooperation and development of relations not only in the trade, economic, investment, tourism, medical, energy, as well as educational. Nataliia Nefodova discussed with the representatives of the Latvian delegation possible directions of cooperation and thanked the management for the invitation on behalf of the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha.






Representatives of the Institute took part in the project supported by the United States Embassy in Ukraine

During the period from 16 to 18 May 2019, Nataliia Nefodova and Daria Suslina, staff members of the International Cooperation Department, took part in the XIX Annual American Studies Institute, "Elections in the United States: Myths and Facts". The project was implemented by the NGO Lviv Education Initiative with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine based on the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.








Representatives of the Institute attended the lecture of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine

On the occasion of the celebration of the Europe Day in Odessa on May 20, 2019, students of the Faculty of Public Management and Administering and members of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova and Daria Suslina were attending lecture by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Chair of the Centre for International Studies Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy Of Ukraine, Andrii Veselovskyi. The event was held at the Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University. Mr. Veselovskyi spoke about the history of the formation of the European Union, the stages of its expansion and the peculiarities of the process of preparation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU based on his own experience of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU. At the end of the lecture, between the participants of the event began a lively discussion.






Public Administration in Poland: Tasks and Responsibilities Seminar

On May 13 17, 2019, graduate students and students of the institute, together with the Public Management and Administering Faculty Dean Ihor Kusplyak, and Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration and Regional Studies Hanna Panchenko took part in the Public Administration in Poland: Tasks and Responsibilities Seminar, which was held at the Lech Kaczynski National School of Public Administration (KSAP, Warsaw). The workshop program was supported by experts from the Department of Civil Service, and the Government Office for Project Monitoring at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Eastern Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During a week, the representatives of the institute were studying Polands public administering and civil service system, and got acquainted with the role of KSAP in this system, researched the human resources management system (selection, evaluation, professional development and training), project management practices and investment attraction, took part in training sessions dedicated to social and psychological conditions of corruption, leaders role in management etc. Besides, the Institute representatives, visited the Sejm of Poland where they became acquainted with the process of lawmaking, the structure and activity of parliamentary committees, the relations of the majority and opposition in the Polish parliament. This event was held with the support and financial aid of Study Tours to Poland Program implemented by the Changes Leaders Foundation.






A representative of the Institute had visited an official reception organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa

On the 7th of May 2019, Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova took part in a festive reception on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Poland the Constitution Day. The event was held at the Receptions Hall of the Odessa Oblast Council and was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa. The representatives of the public authorities of the South of Ukraine, foreign diplomatic missions, HEI, clergy, mass media, as well as cultural centers were among the guests invited to this event. Andrzej Szmidtke, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Odessa, opened the official reception, noting that Polish constitution is one of the oldest in the world. Deputy Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Vitalyi Svichinskyi, Deputy Mayor of Odessa City Pavel Vuhelman and the Officer-in-Charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Odessa Serhii Orlov also spoke with greetings. Representatives of public authorities congratulated the Polish people on the national holiday and emphasized the importance of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in various fields. Nataliia Nefodova, on behalf of the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, congratulated Mr. Andrzej Szmidtke with the national holiday. She noted the importance of the Institute's cooperation with Polish partners and invited the diplomat to visit the Institute with a working visit.






Representatives of the Institute took part in the event European Union Career Day

On April 25, 2019, students of Management and Business Technologies Faculty participated in the EU Career Days due to the Institutes cooperation with the European Union Information Centre in Odessa. The purpose of the event, which was held within the framework of the project Information Support for Youth EU Network in Ukraine was to inform young people on the ways of professional growth and career opportunities in the context of European integration of Ukraine. During the panel discussion, the participants learned about the world and European trends in professional competencies, as well as the opportunities for exchange trainings and internships. In addition, students received advice from professionals about employment, writing a resume and successful interview. At the end of the event, the representatives of the institute had an opportunity to ask questions and get references about useful electronic resources.






A round table was held at the initiative of the Consulate General of Turkey in Odesa

On April 23, 2019, the round table took place in the institute on the topic Key Principles of Turkey's Foreign Policy in the Context of Global and Regional Challenges organized together with Turkish Consulate General in Odesa. The event was attended by the Institutes Director Mykola Izha, Consul General of Turkey in Odessa Sadin Ayildiz, Deputy Director of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevgeniya Gaber, Head of the Protocol and Interaction with the Diplomatic Institutions of the Department of Investment, International and Interregional Cooperation of the Odessa Regional State Administration Kateryna Marchenko, as well as scientific and teaching staff and students of the institute. Acting Head of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova was the round table moderator. At the beginning of the event, Mykola Izha, the director of the institute, welcomed the audience and noted the relevance of the topic. The director also emphasized that participation in international scientific and communication events with the participation of diplomats provides an opportunity for young Ukrainian civil servants and managers to gain new knowledge that will promote the development of cooperation and interaction between our countries. In turn, Mr. Sadin Ayildiz thanked for the invitation and emphasized that the Consulate General will continue to promote the development of Ukrainian-Turkish relations in the educational sphere. Moreover, Yevgeniya Gaber and Kateryna Marchenko welcomed the audience and congratulated the representatives of the diplomatic institution on the national holiday. The main speaker of the event was Mr. Sadin Ayildiz, who during the round table gave a presentation on the basic principles of the foreign policy of the Republic of Turkey. In particular, the Consul General spoke about the humanitarian policies and the initiatives implemented by the state leadership, which are the key to peace and reconciliation. This topic is particular relevance in the difficult times for our country. A lively discussion among the participants of the event followed the presentation of the diplomat. The round table provoked the interest of mass-media who interviewed the participants. At the end of the event, the representatives of the Institute expressed their gratitude to the leadership of the diplomatic institution and hopes for the implementation of joint educational projects.






On April 18, 2019

Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the XX All-Ukrainian Modern Management: Models, Strategies, Technologies Annual Students Scientific and Practical Conference. At the conference, the institute received 205 abstracts. Students of 21 domestic educational institutions attended the conference. The Institute did receive foreign guests representing its foreign partners HEIs, too: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, The Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Moldova and the University of Bialystok (Poland). The participants from Georgia presented their speeches at the plenary and thematic sessions, and the best ones were marked off with diplomas. Afterward, the guests took part in the discussions with their Ukrainian colleagues.






Representatives of the Institute visited the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus

On March 29-30, 2019, Deputy head of the Department for Coordination of Scientific Research and Doctoral Studies Iryna Matvieienko and the student of the Public Management and Administering faculty Kateryna Shelestiuk took part in the First International Forum of Young Administrators. The scientific forum, held in the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk, brought together young scientists from Belorussian and foreign higher education institutions. The event was aimed at the development of research activities among students, postgraduates and young scientists, their involvement in solving the problems of modern science, as well as integration of science, practice and education.






Festive reception on occasion of the National holiday of Greece

On March 25, 2019, the International Cooperation Department Acting Head Nataliia Nefodova took part in the festive reception on occasion of the National holiday of Greece. The event was held at the Receptions Hall of the Odessa Oblast Council and was organized by the General Consulate of Greece in Odessa. The reception was attended by representatives of the public authorities of the South of Ukraine, foreign diplomats, higher educational establishments employees, clergy, journalists, and Greek diaspora in Odessa. The General Consul of Greece in Odessa Mr. Alexisous Liberopoulos in his inauguration speech emphasized the crucial importance of the independent Greek state creation for the whole of the Greek people, and highlighted the old close ties between his country and Odessa. The public authorities representatives also addressed the audience with greetings. The concert program included Greek folk dances and songs that created the atmosphere of real national holiday. On behalf of the Institutes leadership, Nataliia Nefodova greeted the Consul General of Greece in Odessa with the National holiday, and expressed her hope on further bilateral cooperation.






Representatives of the institute attended the festive event on the occasion of the Novruz Bayrami international holiday

On March 20, 2019, at the invitation of the United Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine (hereinafter UCAU), the representatives of the institute visited the festive event on the occasion of the Novruz Bayrami a non-religious holiday of springs arrival according to the astronomical solar calendar of the Iranian and Turkic peoples. The representatives of the UCAU, public authorities, diplomatic missions accredited in Odessa, higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations, national cultural societies and the media were among the guests of the event, held in the Fresh Market shopping center. The institute was represented by the Deputy Director of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Development Mykola Kiseolar, Head of Communication Department Tetiana Folhina and Acting Head of International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova. The event began with the greetings of the UCAU leadership, the Odessa oblast state administration, and diplomatic missions heads. During the holiday, which reflected the traditional values of the Azerbaijani people, songs were performed by the Peoples Artist of Ukraine, the Head of the Azerbaijan Moslim Mahomaiev Cultural Center and the Ambassador of the World Gurban Abbasov. The food court with national dishes and traditional sweets allowing to get acquainted with the cuisine of different regions of Azerbaijan was also organized for the guests. The representatives of the institute, on behalf of the ORIPA NAPA director Mykola Izha congratulated the UCAU leadership on the holiday and discussed further cooperation.






Representatives of the Institute passed internship in Poland

From February 11 to March 01, 2019, Senior Lecturer of Public Administration and Regional Studies Chair Olena Lesyk and Senior Lecturer of Economic and Financial Policy Chair Halyna Kuspliak passed internship at Lech Kaczynski National School of Public Administration (KSAP, Warsaw, Poland) on the topic Content, planning and organization of the educational process at KSAP. Within the framework of the internship program, the peculiarities of the National School of Public Administration activities were considered in detail. The vocational guidance work, recruitment mechanisms and competitive selection stages were considered during the meetings with the KSAP employees. The special features of full-time studies and short-term seminars planning were studied as well. The interns had the opportunity to take part in full-time form lectures and short-term seminars, to attend classes in foreign languages, and to communicate with faculty staff and students. The ORIPA NAPA lecturers received the KSAP certificates of the internship successful completion.






Representatives of the Institute visited the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Moldova

On March 1, 2019 Deputy head of the Department for Coordination of Scientific Research and Doctoral Studies Iryna Matvieienko, Associate professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev and the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine PhD students Oksana Yelchiieva and Volodymyr Kuleshov took part in the international conference The Contribution of Young Researchers in Public Administration Development. The scientific forum, which was held in the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Moldova (Chisinau), brought together young scientists from Moldova, the Czech Republic, Romania and Ukraine. The representatives of the Institute greeted the audience on behalf of the leadership, made presentations and participated in discussions on topical issues of public administration reforms, local self-government development, civil society formation, European integration and international relations. Besides this, the Ukrainian delegation met with the Academy Rector Oleg Balan and Vice-rector for scientific work Aurel Symbotianu. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation, in particular in publishing and scientific spheres. The readiness for further publication of the scientific research results in specialized editions, as well as participation in conferences held by partner institutions was confirmed.






The Institute hosted a conference-symposium International-legal aspects of civilian population protection in conditions of armed conflicts

On February 26, 2019, the conference-symposium, organized jointly with the United Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine (hereinafter UCAU) was held at the Institute. The event was devoted to the international-legal aspects of the civilian population protection during armed conflicts.






Director of the institute took part in the solemn event devoted to the 40th anniversary of reforms and openness in China

On February 15, 2019, at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa, the representatives of the institute visited the festive opening of the photo exhibition devoted to the 40th anniversary of reforms and openness policy in China. The event that took place in the Odessa Museum of Western and Oriental Art, was attended by the Director of the institute Professor Mykola Izha, Head of the sector for the organization of seminars by state order of the personnel in-service training department Mrs. Nataliia Pryvalova and Acting head of International Cooperation Department Mrs. Nataliia Nefodova. Among the guests there were also the representatives of public authorities of the South of Ukraine, diplomatic missions, educational institutions, mass media, as well as the Chinese diaspora in Odessa.





Director of the Institute met with the representatives of United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress

On February 14, 2019, the Director of the Institute Professor Mykola Izha met with the Joint Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine member, the representative of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways in Ukraine Mr. Natigh Nagiev and the chairman of the United Diaspora of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine Odessa organization Mr. Anar Agaiev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation development. In particular, agreements were reached on the organization of educational and cultural events in the Institute, aimed at raising the level of mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among peoples. The participants also expressed their hope for continuing professional contacts and implementing joint projects in the future.





The representatives of the Institute visited Window on America Center

On February 6, 2019, associate professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev and Leading Specialist of the International Cooperation Department Nataliia Nefodova paid a working visit to the Window on America Center in the Odessa National Scientific Library (ONSL). Window on America is a project of the United States Embassy in Ukraine. The mission of the center is to promote mutual understanding between the USA and Ukraine. During the meeting representatives of the Institute discussed issues related to the new vectors of cooperation development with the Head of International Projects Department of ONSL. According to the results of the meeting priority directions of cooperation between the Information center and the Institute were determined. The parties also reached agreement on joint projects implementation.





The representatives of the Institute have visited the Consulate General of the PRC in Odessa

On January, 31, 2019 Communication Department staff members Andrii Maiev and Nataliia Nefodova met with the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odesa Mr. Sun Liucun. The representatives of the Institute on behalf of the director Mykhola Izha congratulated the Consul General on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. Also they handed gifts related with Odesa which reflect the picturesque landscapes of the Odessa region. During the meeting the parties discussed prospects for further bilateral cooperation, namely the possibility of organizing Mr. Sun Liucuns speech for the Institute staff. The Chinese diplomat was also expressed gratitude for facilitating the establishment of professional contacts with Chinese partners, assistance in conducting joint communicative events and material support of the Institute. Both parties expressed their hope for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.





The Institutes representative took part in the international conference in Baku (Azerbaijan)

From January 31 to February 01, 2019, Economic and Financial Policy Chair PhD student Mrs. Nataliia Rozmaritsyna took part in the international conference Model of Azerbaijani Youth Policy, which was held in Baku (Azerbaijan). 45 candidates from 8 countries of the world were selected to participate in the forum. This conference is organised annually with the purpose of involving young people in the process of youth policy implementation and raising awareness about its main directions. The conference program was based on the theoretical material presented by the participants. Besides this, the representatives of state institutions of Azerbaijan delivered lectures in the round table format. The head of the Azerbaijani-American youth association Vugar Akhmedov conducted tours to the Azerbaijani Youth Foundation and the Baku Congress Center. During the conference solemn closing, all foreign participants received certificates and expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizers.





ORIPA NAPA signed an Agreement on Cooperation with Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

On January 04, 2019, the director of the institute Mykola Izha, met with the director of the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (hereafter - DAU) Sergiy Korsunsky, the DAU Deputy Director of DAU Yevgeniya Gaber and the Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Communications Olga Rusova. During the negotiations, the Parties presented to each other the main tasks, structure and priority directions of the activities of the institutions, the results achieved by them in recent years and the state of cooperation with international partners. The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between ORIPA and DAU and discussed the holding of joint scientific and communicative activities in 2019. According to the results of the visit, Mykola Izha and Sergiy Korsunsky signed the Cooperation Agreement between ORIPA and DAU for a five-years-long term, which provides for holding joint projects on professional training and research in the field of international relations. After the signing procedure, the both sides expressed their mutual hope for successful and longstanding cooperation.





The institute received technical equipment from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa

On December 11, 2018, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odesa, Sun Liucun, Deputy Consul General Chen Yuyuzun and Vice-Consul Wang Ci visited ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine with a working visit. The purpose of the visit was to take part in the solemn ceremony of the transfer of technical equipment purchased by the Chinese diplomatic institution for the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine.

During the period from 03 to 08 December 2018, the delegation of the Institute headed by the First Deputy Director of the Institute Mykola Popov was on a working visit to the People's Republic of China. The delegation included: Liudmyla Prykhodchenko (Head of the Public Administration and Regional Studies Department), Svitlana Ovcharenko (Professor of the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies Department), Iryna Nagorna (Associate Professor of the Regional Policy and Public Administering Department), Andriy Falkovsky (Associate Professor of the State Studies and Law Department).

On December 04, 2018 at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Romania in Odessa the representatives of the Institute attended an official reception on the occasion of the National Day of Romania and 100th anniversary of the Great Unification.







Representatives of the Institute took part in an international conference in Chisinau

On November 23, 2018, the associate professor of the State Studies and Law Academic Department Ielyzaveta Lvova and the post-graduate student of the Economic and Financial Policy Department Nataliia Rozmaritsyna took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference Consolidation of Local Public Administration and European Perspectives of the Republic of Moldova held at the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Moldova in Chisinau. This conference is held annually by the Academy in order to bring together leading scholars from higher education institutions of Moldova and foreign countries. The Ukrainian scientists delivered presentations at the plenary and sectional meetings of the conference and participated in the debates. After the conference, the rector of the Academy of Public Administration Oleg Balan and the head of the Administrative Sciences Academic Department the organizing committee chief, Angela Zelenski expressed their gratitude to all the speakers and presented certificates of conference participation to the foreign guests. On their part, the representatives of the Institute sincerely thanked the organisers for the warm reception and a wonderful organization of the events. The director of the Institute met with the General Consul of Turkey in Odesa

On November 22, 2018, the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, and the Communication Department staff met with the Consul General of Turkey in Odessa, Mr. Sadin Ayyildiz. Mykola Izha expressed gratitude for the support of the Consulate General for establishing professional contacts with educational institutions in the Republic of Turkey and assistance in organizing joint activities. Further, the head of the institution provided information on the system of administrative staff training in Ukraine and the main areas of the Institute's activities. On his part, the Consul General thanked the Institute for the invitation and expressed his readiness to continue to support cooperation in the academic field during his diplomatic mission in Odesa. The development of cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Consulate General was discussed, and, in particular, an agreement was reached on a future meeting of the Consul General with students. After the meeting, First Deputy Director Mykola Popov introduced the Turkish diplomat to the pedagogical and technical facilities and the educational process of the institute.




Language club with the Institutes intern from the Netherlands

On November 22, 2018, a regular meeting of the Language Club of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Academic Department took place, the moderators of which were Martijn Ingmar Haas (Intern from the Netherlands, currently working at the Communication Department) and Associate Professor Andrii Maiev. Martijn Ingmar Haas made a presentation on the migration policy of the European Union, which discussed the main provisions of the Schengen Agreement, the current challenges in the field of migration policy in Europe, and the relationship between the EU and neighbouring countries. After the presentation, Andrii Maiev, on behalf of the audience, thanked the speaker and emphasised the new opportunities for academic cooperation that arose from the 2017 implementation of a visa-free regime between the EU and Ukraine.






On November 14, 2018, the Consul of the People's Republic of China in Odesa, Sun Liucun, Deputy Consul General Chen Yuyuzun and Vice-Consul Wang Ci visited ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. Diplomats met with Director of the institute Mykola Izha and the staff of the Communications Department. The head of the Institute congratulated the Consul General on his appointment to the Odesa post, provided information on the system of training of management personnel in Ukraine and the main areas of the Institute's activities. Also, Mykola Izha commented on the developments in the international cooperation of the Institute and expressed his gratitude for the support from the Consulate General for establishing professional contacts with higher educational institutions in China, in particular, with the Beijing Administrative Institute.





Internship at the Speyer German University of Administrative Sciences

From 05 to 09 November 2018, associate professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Andrii Maiev and leading specialist of the Communications Department Nataliia Nefodova underwent internship at the German University of Administrative Sciences, Speyer (Germany, Baden-Wurttemberg). The main purpose of the internship, co-funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), was to familiarize with the everyday work of the international office of the university in order to further introduce foreign experience in the work of the Institute and the implementation of joint educational projects.





Formal reception on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Turkey

On May 29, 2018, at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Turkish Republic in Odessa, the director of the institute, Mykola Izha, and leading specialist of the communications department, Nataliia Nefodova, attended the reception on the celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. Among the guests of the commemoration at the Bristol Hotel were representatives of: public authorities, diplomatic missions, higher education institutions, clergy and the media.






Presentation of academic mobility opportunities for students

On the 23rd of October 2018, an event was held to introduce academic mobility opportunities to students and other participants from the institute. The event was organised at the initiative of the Communications Department. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about international opportunities available to young people and to motivate them to learn foreign languages.






Representative of the institute Nataliia Nefodova took part in an educational programme in Brussels, Belgium

In the period from October 16 to October 20, 2018, Nataliia Nefodova, the Communications Department leading specialist visited Brussels. The representative of the institute is an alumna of the 26th session of EU Study Days, a project which is being implemented by the EU Delegation in Ukraine. Upon completion of the project, the most promising participants of the 2018 sessions were selected on a competitive basis to participate in a study trip to Brussels. During the study visit the participants had an opportunity to become familiar with the work of the main EU institutions, to deepen and broaden their knowledge of the main characteristics of the current European Union and the relationship between Ukraine and the EU. During the visit, Nataliia Nefodova visited the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European External Action Service, the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Delegation of Ukraine to the EU. Additionally, the programme included sessions on the culture, historical heritage and values of the European Union. The participants also met with Ukrainians studying at the College of Europe and learned how to maintain close ties with Ukraine while abroad.




Representatives of the Institute attended the official reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia

On October 25, 2018, at the invitation of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Odessa, the Communication Department deputy head Tetiana Folgina and associate professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair Andrii Maiev attended the official reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. The reception took place in the German Evangelical Lutheran Church and was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian Embassy to Ukraine and the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Odesa and Odesa Oblast.

The All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference Reforming Public Administration: Theory, Practice, International Experience, which took place at the Institute on October 26, 2018, was attended by representatives of foreign higher education institutions.






Representatives of the Institute attended a seminar at the European Union Information Centre

On October 19, 2018, a seminar with the topic The Schengen Area: How secure are the EUs borders? took place at the EU Information Centre at the Odessa National Economic University (ONEU). The seminar was organised in close cooperation with ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. Andrii Maiev, associate professor at the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Chair and Martijn Haas, intern at the Communications Department and student at the University of Bamberg (Free State of Bavaria, Germany) were among the participants. Martijn Haas was invited as the main speaker of the event.




In honour of Defender of Ukraine Day, an event took place with the title: Not all heroes wear uniforms. During the event, an art exhibition at the Institute was opened. The exhibition consists of a photo exhibition by the name of ETNO photo session and the presentation of several social projects titled: Children ask for peace, Children for peace and My father protects Ukraine.f

On October 9th 2018 the event "Not all heroes wear uniforms" was held at the Institute with the support of the Consulate of Georgia in Odessa. The event consisted of the presentation of the social projects "Children Ask for Peace", "Children for Peace" and the opening of the ETNO photo session of the project "My father protects Ukraine".




A new ERASMUS+ Call for applications for students and staff

Within the framework of the cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania), the representatives of the institute have the opportunity to apply for an academic mobility under the European Union ERASMUS+ program. Representatives of the Institute visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Odessa

On October 01, 2018, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Andrii Maiev and Leading Specialist of the Communication Department Natalia Nefyodova attended presentations on internship and study programmes in Bulgaria. The event was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Odessa in cooperation with representatives of Bulgarian universities and the Bulgarian tourism industry. The group of attendees included representatives of higher education institutions in Odessa and other Ukrainian cities. During the event, they received information on internship opportunities, business practises and training opportunities in Bulgaria. The delegation of the Institute received informational material and discussed the prospect of establishing bilateral cooperation with the Varna Free University, which was among the Bulgarian institutions represented at the event.





This academic year's first Language Club session was held on the 27th of September. The moderators of the event were Martijn Haas (intern from the Netherlands) and Mrs. Galina Vasilieva, Senior Lecturer of the Department. The session on "The governance system in the Netherlands" was held in the form of a quiz. Participants of the Language Club enthusiastically answered the questions about geography, culture, politics, and governance in the Netherlands.




The institutes representative has completed a period of training at the Varna Economic University (Bulgaria)

From September 15 to October 01, 2018 Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Regional Studies Chair, Stepan Davtian has completed a period of training at the Varna Economic University (Bulgaria) on the topic: Balance of economic and legal processes in society and business environment in the conditions of globalization. As part of the training programme, Dr. Davtian participated in the conference Ukraine - Bulgaria - European Union: Current State and Future Prospects and spoke at the plenary meeting on the topic: Relationship of crisis management with risk management. After finishing the training, Stepan Davtian received a certificate about the successful participation in both the training and the conference.




Representatives of the Institute attended an official reception organised by the Consulate General of the PRC in Odessa

On the 25th of September 2018 representatives of the Institute were invited by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa to take part in a festive reception. The reception was organised in commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of the introduction of economic reform and openness of China. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Department of State Studies and Law Volodymyr Maruschak, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Andrii Maiev, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanitarian and Socio-Political Sciences Larysa Kurnosenko and Leading Specialist of the Communications Department Nataliia Nefodova. Among the guests invited to this event were the First Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional Council Oleg Radkovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Svitlana Shatalova, Deputy Mayor of Odessa, Pavlo Vugelman, heads of higher educational institutions, diplomatic missions, international organizations, mass media and representatives of the Chinese diaspora in Odessa. Zhao Xiangzhong, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa, opened the official reception, noting that over the years she has witnessed how the People's Republic of China went from an underdeveloped country to the second economy of the world. She also emphasized the importance of cooperation with Ukraine which includes the development of Belt and Road Initiative. The speeches of the representatives reflected on the anniversary of the establishment of the Peoples Republic of China and the development and strengthening of cordial relations between the PRC and Ukraine thanks to a policy of openness. One of the speakers subsequently informed the public about the interesting fact that three millionth tourist to visit Odessa was a citizen of the Peoples Republic of China. Andriy Mayev, on behalf of the Director of the Institute Mykola Izha, congratulated Ms. Zhao Xiangzhong with the national holiday. He thanked her for the many years of support of the cooperation between the Institute and its Chinese partners. He expressed his hope for a successful continuation of the partnership in the foreseeable future.




Work meeting with Professor Bauer of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer

On the 19th of September 2017, First Deputy Director of the Institute Mykola Popov met with Professor Michael Bauer of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. During the meeting, Mykola Popov highlighted the results of many years of cooperation between Odessa and Speyer and emphasized the importance of academic exchange programs. The post-graduate student of the Department of Economic and Financial Policy Natalia Rosmaritsina, who has received training in Germany, joined the working meeting. The staff of the Communications Department Andrii Maiev and Natalia Nefyodova familiarised the professor with the facilities of the Institute and discussed possibilities for further cooperation.




Representatives of the Institute visited the Peoples Republic of China

Between the 13th and the18th of September 2018, Director of the Institute Mykola Izha and Head of the Department of State Studies and Law Volodymyr Marushchak took part in a study visit to the Peoples Republic of China. The trip, in which two representatives of the Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University also took part, was organised on the initiative of the General Consul of the PRC in Odessa and aimed at promoting the strengthening the cooperation between the PRC and Ukraine in the educational field. On September 14, according to the itinerary, the Ukrainian representatives visited Shanghai, where they became acquainted with the work of Shanghai University and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. During meetings with the leadership of these Chinese institutions, the Ukrainian representatives were informed about the activities of their Chinese counterparts and discussed possibilities for academic exchanges. On September 16 and 17, members of the delegation visited Jiangxi Province and learnt about the activities of higher education institutions in the region. The group visited China Executive Leadership Academy Jinggngshan, Nanchang University, and the Jiangxi Normal University. At the institutions, they learnt about the main fields of work of these universities and discussed with their Chinese counterparts possibilities for the establishment of professional cooperation. On September 17, representatives of the Institute took part in a working lunch with staff of the Jiangxi Provincial Education Department and an official reception, organized by the Office of Foreign Affairs of Jiangxi Province. In addition to the working meetings, the Ukrainian delegation was offered a rich cultural program consisting of an excursion to the historical Tenwang temple and the Jinggshan Mountains, which are linked to the Chinese Revolution and the historic formation of the People's Republic of China. During all meetings, Mykola Izha informed Chinese representatives about the history and development of the Ukrainian national system of training of civil servants and the activities of the NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Odessa Regional Institute as the leading educational institutions in this field. The Director of the Institute expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers of the visit, namely: heads of educational institutions, officials of public authorities and diplomats for the opportunity for the Ukrainian delegation to directly familiarize themselves with the activities of the leading universities of the PRC. The result of the study visit, which was possible thanks to the long-term partnership of the Institute with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa, should be the further intensification of academic contacts with Chinese partners.






Natalia Nefyodova, leading specialist of the Communications Department, and postgraduate student at the Department of Economic and Financial Policy, Natalia Rosmaritsina, were selected on a competitive basis for the second EU Study Days for Alumi held from 14 to 15 September in Kyiv. The project, realised by the European Union Representative Office in Ukraine, provided participants with the opportunity to attend lectures of well-known diplomats and ask questions to the Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, Mr. Mingarelli. The participants also learned about new academic opportunities through alumni of the Erasmus+ programme, College of Europe graduates. In addition to this, the participants became acquainted with the different funding possibilities available for studying in the European Union. The rich and interactive programme allowed for a dialogue about the future of Ukraine and the future of the Association of Graduates of the European School. During these two days, the representatives of the Institute were inspired by the work of their colleagues, representing the Young European Ambassadors, and presented their own project. Participants of the forum also noted that they are ready to work on the creation of an active group of young people in Odessa, because they are the future of active youth. They are the ones who are able to flexibly respond to reforms in the country and create a successful future together.




Successful organization of the Ukrainian-Polish Autumn School

Between the 10th and the 14th of September 2018, - the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the Ukrainian-Polish Autumn School which was held in cooperation with the University of Bialystok. The ceremonial opening of the event, in which eight representatives from the University of Bialystok took part, was led by Institute First Deputy Director Mykola Popov, Management and Business Technologies, Faculty Dean Yuliia Yevstiunina, Associate Professor of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Department Andrii Maiev and Leading Specialist of the Communication Department Natalia Nefodova. The programme provided for presentations and discussions on a wide range of issues concerning public service reform, training of management personnel, providing administrative services, development of civil society, etc. The speakers during the programme consisted of scientific and teaching staff, PhD students, and other staff of the Institute, who prepared engaging presentations. During the Autumn School, students of the University of Bialystok also became acquainted with the facilities of the institute, a dedicated room for classes in public speaking, a distance-learning centre, and met staff of the Department of Project Management. On September 13, the Polish representatives visited the EU Information Centre at the Odessa National University of Economics, where they learned about the Information Centre's history, its main tasks, as well as its cooperation with the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. At the official closing of the autumn school, Mykola Popov congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the programme and provided the participants with certificates of participation. On behalf of the Polish delegation, the head of the Polish delegation Dr. Jaroslaw Matwiejuk, sincerely thanked all the representatives of the institute for the rich and diverse programme, the excellent organisation and the hospitality of the organisers. During their stay in Odessa, members of the Polish delegation had an opportunity to become acquainted with the historical and cultural monuments of the city, as well as to experience the atmosphere of the Southern Palmyra on the Black Sea coast. A striking combination of the Ukrainian folk song and dance in the opera A Zaporozhian Beyond the Danube, presented at the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre provided the guests with unforgettable memories. The binational Autumn School was another practical step in the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the partner institutions, which was signed on the 7th of July 2015.




The Institutes representative visited the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Odessa

On August 15, 2018, ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Communications Department Leading Specialist Andrii Maiev visited the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Odessa and met with the Honorary Consuls assistant Mrs. Hanna Bevzenko. The Consulate representative was passed the copies of ORIPA NAPA scientific journal with the article New Stage of Kazakhstan Social Development by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Mr. Samat Ordabayev. The parties expressed their hope for continuing professional contacts and holding joint events in the future.




The Institutes representative became the participant of the International Summer Multiculturalism School in Baku (Azerbaijan)

On July 29 August 09, 2018, Economic and Financial Policy Department PhD student Mrs. Nataliia Rozmaritsyna took part in the VII International Summer Multiculturalism The Baku process 10th Anniversary as a Contribution to the Development of Intercultural Dialogue School in Baku City (Azerbaijan). 32 candidates from 29 world countries have been chosen to take part in the schools work. The participants travelled to the historic and cultural sites of the country, as well as got acquainted with national minorities, such as Udines and Molokans. The school program was based on theoretical material presented by the best researchers. A number of lecture sessions in the round table format were also held by representatives of Azerbaijan Republic state institutions. Every evening the participants had the opportunity to prepare a thematic event and present their Motherlands culture and traditions.




The Institutes representatives took part in the Library Georgia meeting

On July 18, 2018, Odessa National Scientific Library hosted the Library Georgia meeting having been organized with the assistance of the Consul General of Georgia in Odessa Mr. Tornike Berekashvili. The event was visited by the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia (GNPL) CEO Giorgi Kekelidze, GNPL Library Resources Department Head Livan Taktakishvili, as well as the librarians from Odessa region. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by the acting Library Head Olga Kudryavtseva and Communications Department Deputy Head Tetyana Folgina. The meeting was aimed at deepening the cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, and it was emphasized by a festive signing of the Cooperation Memorandum between the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia ND Odessa national Scientific Library. In the network of the meeting, the guests had an opportunity to discuss the possible cooperation options, considering the peculiarities of the library funds e-versions placement platforms, and the public use library directories.




The delegation of the institute visited the Loughborough University (Great Britain)

From July 9 to July 13, 2018, the delegation of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine headed by the Director Mykola Izha had a working visit to the School of Arts, English Language and Drama of the Loughborough University (Great Britain). In addition to the head of the institution, the delegation included: the head of the Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Department Natalia Kolisnichenko, professor of the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Sciences Department Svetlana Ovcharenko and leading specialist of the Communications Department Andrii Maiev.

On June 26, 2018, the Director of the Institute, Mykola Izha, met Zhao Xiangrong, Chinese Consulate-General in Odessa, and Consul-General, vice-general counsulate Chen Yuyong, and vice consulate Yu Zhouulin. The meeting was attended by well-known politician, member of the Public Council of the Institute Serhiy Grinevetskyi, chairman of the NGO Odesa-Shanghai 1871 Boris Voloshenkov and a leading specialist of the Communications Department Andrii Maiev. Mykola Izha thanked the Chinese diplomats for their continued support of professional ties with Chinese partners and assistance in conducting joint communicative activities. On June 11 14, 2018, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the Ukrainian-Turkish Local Self-Government and Regional Development: Modern Challenges for Turkey and Ukraine Summer School having been held in the network of cooperation with the Public Administration Institute for Turkey and Middle East (TODAIE, Ankara City, Turkey).

The Institutes representatives visited the Berlin Economics and Law School

On May 28 31, 2018, the representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine visited the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Federal Republic of Germany). The delegation consisted of I. Matvyeyenko, Scientific Work Coordination and Doctorate Department Deputy Head, and Y. Lvova, State Studies and Law Department Associate Professor. The educational visit to Berlin was held in the network of the Project carried out by the German-Ukrainian Governance School with the financial assistance of the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ). During the studies, the issues of the public servants interdisciplinary training, Bachelors internships at the municipal authorities, peculiarities of the German legislation on the state procurement and social security, as well as the scenarios of assisting the European cooperation in education were discussed. In the network of the educational trip, NAPA regional institutes representatives visited the Federal Labor and Social Affairs Ministry, Berlin City Administrative Court, and also took part in a didactic training at the Berlin Higher Education Center. All the participants received the according certificates.

On May 28, 2018, the Leading Specialists of ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Communications Department, and Public Management and Administering Faculty Deanery Nataliya Nefyodova and Olha Gramatyk, at the invitation of Ukraines United Azerbaijanis Congress, took part in the festive celebrations on occasion of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republics 100th anniversary.

On May 25, 2018, Communications Department Deputy Head and Leading Specialist Tetyana Folgina and Andrii Maiev, as well as the In-Service Training Department State Order Seminars Organization Sector Head Natalia Pryvalova visited the festive reception dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia.

On the 22th of May at the public administration and regionalism department during the Festival of Science the preliminary consideration of K. Chabanovas Ph.D. thesis Devolution as a mechanism of governance at regional and local levels took place. (The Thesis for a Candidate Degree in Public Administration. Specialization 25.00.04 local self-government; scientific advisor: Sahanenko S.E., Ph.D. in Public administration, professor). The abstract and presentation of scientific research results were prepared in English. The decision to move for the next stage of thesis consideration on the expended session of the department was the result of dissertation research discussion.




The Institutes representatives took part in Europe Day celebration

On May 18, 2018, Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies (ONAFT) hosted a festive concert show dedicated to the Europe Day. The event was also attended by the representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine: Communications Department Deputy Head Tetyana Folgina, Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev, and Organizations Management Department Associate Professor Tetyana Butenko. ONAFT Rector Professor Bogdan Yegorov and the event organizer Odessa La Pipelette Arts and Languages Culture Center Head Jean-Claude Charbonnel greeted the audience warmly, and emphasized the crucial importance of the European unity fest for the modern Ukraine. During the concert, Odessas national art collectives performed varied productions with the elements of the cultural and ethnical peculiarities, having thus presented the European countries: Poland, Bulgaria, Georgia, France and Ukraine. The Institutes representatives thanked the organizers for having been invited, and expressed their hoping on the further cooperation.


The Institutes Deputy Director visited the Public Administration Academy (Republic of Moldova)

On May 17 18, 2018, Mykola Kiseolar, Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Development Deputy Director of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, held a working visit to the Public Administration Academy (Republic of Moldova, Chisinau City). The Institutes representative took part in the plenary session of the International Public Administration Theory and Practice Scientific and Practical Conference, having also been attended by the leading scientists and practical public administrators from Moldova, Romania, Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine. On May 18, in the network of the festive meeting dedicated to the Academys 25th anniversary, Mykola Kiseolar, on behalf of the Institutes Director Mykola Izha, greeted the management and all the team of the Moldavian partner establishment. The both sides expressed their hoping on the continuation of the cooperation, and the fruitful bilateral cooperation development. After the official festivities, Mykola Kiseolar and the other honorary guests visited the famous Mile?tii Mici winery.


Public Administration in Poland: Tasks and Responsibilities Seminar

On May 7 11, 2018, Public Management and Administering Faculty students together with the Institutes First Deputy Director Mykola Popov and the Faculty Dean Ihor Kusplyak took part in the Public Administration in Poland: Tasks and Responsibilities Seminar, which was held at Lech Kaczynski National School of Public Administration (KSAP, Warsaw). During a week, the representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine were studying Polands public administering and civil service system, and got acquainted with the role of KSAP in this system, researched the organizational and legal grounds of local self-government in the country, took part in training sessions dedicated to social and psychological conditions of corruption, leaders role in management, and familiarized themselves with the best practices of communication between the state establishments and citizens. Besides, the Institute representatives, visited Grodzisk Mazowiecki Gmina, where they had an opportunity to meet the wojt (city mayor) and see the say the settlements infrastructure is developing. During the meeting, special attention was drawn to the issues of the territories spatial planning, social aid system, communitys financial capacity, interaction of the authorities and the business sector etc. This event was held with the support and financial aid of Study Tours to Poland Program implemented by the Changes Leaders Foundation.


The representatives of the foreign HEIs took part in the Institutes Students Conference

On April 26, 2018, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the XIX All-Ukrainian Modern Management: Models, Strategies, Technologies Annual Students Scientific and Practical Conference. The Institute did receive foreign guests representing its foreign partners HEIs, too: Tatiana Tofan, Public Administration Academy Economics and Public Management Department Head (Republic of Moldova, Chisinau City), as well as the Academys postgraduate students Diana Chiriac and Anna Varzari, and student Aliona Grecu. On top of that, Lia Khatiashvili, postgraduate student from the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer (Federal Republic of Germany) visited the Conference for a second time. The foreign scientists held a meeting with the Institute Director Mykola Izha, who thanked them for having visited the Conference, and emphasized the crucial importance of scientific cooperation between the partner Higher Education Establishments. The parties expressed their being ready to keep on assisting the professional contacts between the young scientists. The researchers from Moldova and Germany presented their speeches at the plenary and thematic sessions, and the best ones were marked off with diplomas. Afterwards, the scientists took part in the scientific discussions with their Ukrainian colleagues.

The Institutes representatives took part in Polish-Ukrainian Law Spring School at Bialystok University

On April 16 22, 2018, the group of representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine consisting of Management and Business Technologies Faculty Dean Yuliia Yevstiunina, Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Department Head Natalia Kolisnichenko, as well as 6 Institute students, studied at the Polish-Ukrainian Law Spring School at Bialystok City University. During a week, the participants of the event were studying Constitutional, European, Administrative, Civil and Labor Law at the Universitys Law Faculty, got acquainted with the educational process organization peculiarities, educational and methodological materials, scientific editions, as well as the students self-government activity in one of the leading Polish universities. In the network of the visit, ORIPA NAPA delegation attended meetings with the HEIs administration representatives: Rectors Proxy for International Affairs Dr Jaroslaw Matwiejuk and Law Faculty Dean Prof. Dr Hab. Emil Walenty Plywaczewski, who presented novelties of the scientific literature on Law to the Institute. As a result of the studies, all the Spring School participants received the according certificates. During the visit, the joint work experience was being highlighted at the state TV channels and Bialystok City radio, where the ORIPA NAPA representatives provided interviews and shared their impressions. In the network of an interesting excursion program, the Spring School students got acquainted with Podlaskie Voivodeship culture and traditions, visited Suprasl City, and one of the most outstanding Polish monasteries the Suprasl Lavra. The joint Polish-Ukrainian Law Spring School created new traditions of cooperation between the partner higher educational establishments.

The Institutes representatives took part in the Romanian cultural event

On April 24, 2018, Odessa Literature Museum hosted the cultural and educational event Romanian Culture Evening, organized by Odessa Regional Peace Council and the Consulate General of Romania in Odessa. The evening was attended by the famous politicians and public figures, public servicemen, foreign diplomatic missions heads, artists and journalists. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by the Global Studies, European Integration and National Safety Management Department Associate Professor Ivan Usatyuk, Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev, as well as the Public Management and Administering Faculty students Khrystyna Halayko, Maryana Kucheruk, Mariana Frontovska and Maksym Muryzhnikov.



The Institutes representatives took part in the Georgian-Ukrainian patriotic event

On April 14, 2018, Odessa Literature Museum hosted the Georgian-Ukrainian Motherland Language Faith! patriotic event. The event was attended by the public servicemen, foreign diplomats, cultural figures, non-governmental organizations and cultural societies representatives. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by Public Administration and Regional Studies Department Associate Professor Nataliya Pirozhenko, Communications Department Deputy Head Tetyana Folgina, and the Departments Head Specialist Andrii Maiev.



The Institutes representatives took part in the Career Day organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine

On April 11, 2018, Odessa National Economic University (ONEU) hosted the Career Day an amplitudinous informational event organized with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine. The event was attended by ONEU rector Mikhaylo Zveryakov, ONEU EU Information Center Director Iryna Shostak, Career Day Project Coordinator Oleksandra Ryazantseva, Erasmus+ Educational Program Manager Kateryna Zhdanova, as well as the young lecturers, scientists and Odessas HEIs students.



The Institutes representative held a meeting with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Odessa

On April 5, 2018, ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev met with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Odessa Sergey Prodayevych. During the meeting, the Honorary Consul was provided with information on the Institutes activities and was invited to establish bilateral cooperation. The parties discussed the involvement of Kazakh diplomats and experts in the educational process at the Institute, as well as the possibility of informing the Kazakh youth about the educational proposals of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine.





The Institute representative took part in a festive reception on occasion of the National holiday of Greece

On March 25, 2018, the Communications Department Head Specialist of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Andrii Maiev took part in a festive reception on occasion of the National holiday of Greece. The event at Bristol Hotel has been organized by the Consulate General of the Hellenic Republic in Odessa.

On March 12, 2018, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine welcomed the official delegation of the Public Administration Institute for Turkey and Middle East (TODAIE, Ankara City, Turkey) featuring Onur Ender Aslan, TODAIE General Director, Sutay Yavuz, Director of the Center for Foreign Relations, and Yevgeniya Gaber, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine to Turkey.





Multiculturalism the Basis of Stability and Peace Round Table held at the Institute

On March 6, 2018, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the Multiculturalism the Basis of Stability and Peace Round Table organized jointly with the Official Representative Office of Baku Multiculturalism Center on Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria.







The Institute representatives took part in the International conference in Chisinau City

On February 23, 2018, Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev, and Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine postgraduate students Oksana Yelchiyeva, Ivan Komarovskiy, Olga Psareva and Oleg Rogulskiy visited Moldova Republic Public Administration Academy in order to take part in the International Young Researchers Contribution into the Public Administration Development Conference. The conference is annually held by the Academys Administrative Sciences Department, and this year, it united the young scientists from the different HEIs of Moldova and foreign countries.



The Institutes representative became the participant of the International Winter Multiculturalism School in Baku (Azerbaijan)

On February 12 18, 2018, ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Public Management and Administering Faculty student Maxim Imeridze took part in the International Winter Multiculturalism Civilizations Dialogue: New Challenges School in Baku City (Azerbaijan). On a competitive basis, 30 candidates from 17 world countries have been chosen to take part in the schools work. Aside from the Azerbaijani capital, the participants visited the cities of Quabala and Shamakhi, along with the historical Ivanovka village, got acquainted with the multiculturalism policy, the countrys history, found out new information about its ethnic, cultural and religious diversity. On top of that, they had an opportunity to prepare a thematic event, and present their Motherlands culture and traditions. During the festive Winter School closing ceremony, the students and young specialists from different world countries expressed sincere gratitude to its management, and several of them, including Maxim Imeridze, gave interviews to the Azerbaijani Culture Plus TV Channel. The participation of the Institutes representative in the event became the first practical result of realizing the Cooperation Agreement having been signed between Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine and the Official Representative Office of Baku Multiculturalism Center on Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria on September 8, 2017.





The Institutes Director held a meeting with the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa

On February 13, 2018, Mr. Mykola Izha, the Director of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, visited the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa to hold a meeting with the diplomatic institutions Head Mrs. Zhao Xiangrong. Mr. Izha greeted the Consul General with the Chinese New Year, wished her prosperity and new achievements, and also expressed his hoping on the partner relations continuation and strengthening. In the network of the meeting, the parties discussed the bilateral cooperation development, i. e. organizing educational and cultural events at ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine, and further support of the Institutes professional contacts with the Chinese partners by the Consulate General.





The Institutes representatives took part in the Romania Ukraine 2014 2020 Joint Operational Programs information session

On January 30, 2018, the Romania Ukraine 2014 2020 Joint Operational Programs information session was held at Odessa Regional Council. The event featured the representatives of the public authorities, higher education institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies Department Professor Svitlana Ovcharenko, Global Studies, European Integration and National Security Management Department Associate Professor Viktor Komarovskiy, and Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev.





German-Ukrainian Ukraine: Conflicts, Crises and Reforms Students Seminar held at the Institute

On January 23 27, 2018, German-Ukrainian Ukraine: Conflicts, Crises and Reforms Students Seminar was taking place at Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. The event was held jointly with Berlin School of Economics and Law (Federal Republic of Germany), and featured the students of both the Ukrainian HEI and the German partner education institution.





Delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences visited the Institute

On December 19, 2017, the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS, Beijing, Peoples Republic of China) carried out an official working visit to Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. The delegation included CASS Political Studies Institute Director Fang Ning, specialist in the field of nationalities and religions He Xingliang, historian Shi Jinbo, Program Officer of the European and Central Asia Division Yu Jianfei, Assistant Researcher Ph. D. Ma Feng as well as the Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa Zhao Xiangrong and the Consulate representatives Yu Zhoulin and Wang Qi.




The Institutes representative held a meeting with the Director of Alliance Francaise Odessa

On December 13, 2017, ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev visited Alliance Francaise Odessa and held a meeting with its Director Diana Bangoura. Alliance Francaise is a French non-commercial organization that has its representative offices in many world countries and assists the popularization of the French language and culture. In the network of the meeting, Mrs. Bangoura, who has started her work in Odessa in September 2017, received information of the Institutes basic activity directions, and the HEIs history of cooperation with the French partners since 1997. The both parties expressed their being ready to continue the partner relations and, in particular, reached an agreement on holding joint events participated by the Institutes students.





The Institutes students took part in the international conference in Iasi (Romania)

On December 8, 2017, the International Development and Decentralization Conference was held in Romanias largest higher educational establishment Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Ia?i, Romania) by the Philosophy and Socio-Political Sciences Faculty. The conference was attended by ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Public Management and Administering Facultys 1st year students Olena Pryshchak and Marianna Frontovska.






The Institutes representatives took part in the organizational meeting on the International DOBRE Project realization issues

On December 7, 2017, the organizational meeting on the International Decentralization Offering Better Results and Efficiency (DOBRE) Project realization issues was held at Mykolayiv Regional Retraining and Advanced Training Center. The Project is financed by the USA International Development Agency (USAID), and is calculated for 5 years. It is aimed at guaranteeing the systematic support of the local self-government during the decentralization reform in Ukraine. The event was attended by Mykolayiv Citys Higher Education Establishments, as well as ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine Public Management and Administering Faculty Dean Ihor Kusplyak and Communications Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev. The main speeches were presented by Dr. Krzysztof Gluc from Krakow Economical University Malopolska School of Public Administration (MSAP, Poland), and Roman Zhebchuk DOBRE Project team member. Dr. Gluc presented DOBRE Project, especially accentuating its educational component being the priority of MSAP. The Polish expert emphasized that improving the local self-government officials training and advanced training is the crucial condition for the Project successful realization. The meeting attendees were invited to join the DOBRE Universities Consortium which is aimed at educating the expert trainers in effective public administration, as well as developing and approbating the new educational programs of civil servants training and advanced training.

On November 21, 2017, ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine greeted the delegation of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer (Federal Republic of Germany). The delegation comprised of Professors Andreas Knorr, Christian Koch and Kai Messer, and the Universitys researcher Claudia Hipp.





European Unions Institutions Seminar took place at the EU Information Center

On November 9, 2017, European Unions Institutions Seminar organized jointly with Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was held at the EU Information Center of Odessa National Economic University (ONEU). The event was attended by the Communication Department Head Specialist Andrii Maiev and the Departments Intern, Kempten City Applied Sciences University (Germany) student Elias Schempf, who has been invited as the key speaker. The intern made a presentation reflecting the history of EU founding, functions of the basic European institutions, and brought interesting facts about the EU member countries. ONEU students asked the speaker many questions concerning the EUs problematic issues, prospects of the Unions widening, as well as his personal impressions about staying in Ukraine and Odessa. By the end of the event, the EU Information Center Head Irina Shostak thanked the ORIPA NAPA representatives for assisting the event, and expressed her hoping on the further mutually fruitful cooperation.

On November 7, 2017, the Head Specialist of the Communications Department of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Andrii Maiev visited the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Odessa, where he took part in a briefing dedicated to the issues of the Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions (HIEs) students practice and studying.

On October 31, 2017, the Director of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Mr. Mykola Izha, Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies Department Assistant Professor Mrs. Larysa Kurnosenko and International Relations Department Head Andrii Maiev took part in the The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China: China and the Outside World round-table discussion on invitation of the Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in Odessa. The event was attended by Odessas higher educational institutions representatives, journalists and famous scientists interested in the Chinese issues.


The Institutes representatives took part in the meeting with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine

On October 23, 2017, a meeting with the Head of the European Delegation to Ukraine Mr. Hugh Mingarelli took place in Odessa National Economic University (ONEU). The European Union Ambassadors visit was connected with the final stage of the educational European Union Economics, EU and Ukraines Relations course, having already been carried out at ONEU for many years in the network of the European Jean Monnet Educational Program. The meeting was participated by the representatives of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukriane: International Relations Sector Head A. Maiev, intern Elias Schempf, as well as the students having been taking part in the course A. Artemenko-Didenko, A. Pryshchak, M. Frontovska (Public Management and Administering Faculty), A. Ustyanska and G. Nalbandyan (Management and Business Technologies Faculty). In the beginning of the event, the Course Academic Coordinator, Professor Alvaro Fernandez (Portugal) expressed his gratitude to the European Union Delegation to Ukraine for perennially supporting his project, and also thanked all the HEIs taking part in the project. In his speech, Mr. Hugh Mingarelli emphasized the relevant issues of developing the bilateral relations between the EU and Ukraine nowadays, highlighted the importance of the international support of our country, and called for continuation of carrying the system reforms in Ukraine out. After his speech, the European Union Delegation answered the numerous questions of the audience. A. Maiev thanked Mr. Mingarelli on behalf of the managerial board of ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine for the opportunity for our students to take part in the EUs educational program, and invited the European diplomat to visit the institution. After the meeting with the Head of the European Delegation to Ukraine, all the educational course participants having successfully finished their studies received the according international certificates.




The Institute representative took part in the international conference in Iasi City (Romania)

On October 19 20, 2017, the XIV Franco-Romanian Brexit, Populism and Immigration: What Would the Europes Future Be Conference was held at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania. The event was organized by the Philosophy and Socio-Political Studies Faculty with the support of the citys municipality, and the partners from France: Lille City University and The French Institute (Institut Francais). The scientific forum featured the professors and students from the Romanian university, and the French higher educational institutions, as well as the speakers invited from Moldova and Ukraine. Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine was represented by the International Relations Sector Head Andrii Maiev, who delivered the Centralization and Decentralization: European Tendencies and Ukrainian Experience speech. After the conference, a festive reception at Iasi City French Institute was organized for its participants. In the network of the event, Mr. Maiev held working meetings with the Philosophy and Socio-Political Studies Faculty International Cooperation Issues Deputy Dean Dr. Bogdan Stefanachi, and Economics and Business Administration Faculty International Cooperation Issues Deputy Dean Dr. Bogdan Zugravu, during which the bilateral cooperation prospects between the Romanian and Ukrainian HEIs were discussed.





The Institute greeted the Professor from Tlemcen City University (Algeria)

On October 6 9, 2017, Economics and Administering Faculty Professor, Head of the Working Group on Public Finances of Tlemcen City University (Algeria) Dr. Zine M. Barka arrived to Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with a working visit. On October 6, Professor Barka held a meeting with the Economic and Financial Policy Department Head Professor A. Akhlamov. In the network of the meeting, Professor Barka learnt about the Departments basic activity directions, including the participation in the scientific researches ordered by the public administration bodies, and also told about the Tlemcen City University Economics and Administering Faculty, as well as about the research group hes heading. The parties reached a preliminary agreement on launching the cooperation, and on holding a video call conference concerning economics, as well. The same day, in the network of getting the honorary guest acquainted with the Institute, the International Relations Sector Head A. Maiev informed Professor Barka about the main directions of our higher educational establishments educational and international activity. On October 9, the Algerian Universitys representative held a meeting with the Institutes First Deputy Director Dr. Mykola Popov, and the parties summed the visit up, and expressed their hoping on the bilateral cooperation development.






The Institutes representatives took part in the EUs project

On October 3, 2017, the Dean of Management and Business Technologies Faculty of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Mrs. Yulia Yevstyunina together with the Institutes students self-government activists took part in the Would the EU create working places for the youth? round-table discussion having taken place at Odessa National Economical University. The event was held in the network of the EU: Ukraines Young Generation Choice Project under the aegis of the Representative Office of the EU in Ukraine. In the network of the meeting, the Institutes students discussed numerous essential problems, for instance, ones concerning the conditions of attracting the European investments into the region, spheres of Odessas youth self-realization, success of start-ups in Ukraine, providing the youth with the first working place, opportunities of professional self-realization and private business development for the youth, etc.




The Institutes representative taking part in the international conference in Wroclaw

Mrs. Svitlana Ovcharenko, professor of the Humanitarian and Socio-Political Studies Department, Doctor of Philosophy, took part in the international conference City and Culture, which took place in Wroclaw (Poland) from 20 to 22 September, 2017. The scientific forum was devoted to the results of the experience of Wroclaw as the European Capital of Culture 2016 on the development of modern city culture. The conference was theoretical and practical and consisted of scientific, training and discussion parts. Professor Ovcharenko opened the first scientific panel with the report on the topic Public cultural policy and cultural symbolism of the city. During the conference, professional contacts with Polish higher education institutions aimed at further research cooperation were established.

The Deputy Director of ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine took part in the festive reception on occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Armenia Republic Independence.

On September 29, 2017, on the invitation of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Odessa, the Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Development Deputy Director of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Mr. Mykola Kiseolar took part in the festive reception on occasion of the Armenia Republics 26th Independence Day. The event was also participated by the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Odessa Mr. Hayk Ghulian, the First Deputy Head of Odessa Regional State Administration Mr. Oleksandr Tereshchuk, representatives of the public administration bodies, higher educational institutions, diplomatic corps, clergy and mass media. The Institutes Director held a meeting with the Finnish Institute of Public Management Director

On September 22, 2017, the Director of Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Mr. Mykola Izha held a meeting with the Managing Director of HAUS Finnish Institute for Public Management (Helsinki City) Mrs. Anneli Temmes who was taking part in the IX Annual Richelieu Academic Readings dedicated to Professional Training and Development of the Civil Servants and Local Self-Government Servicemen: Challenges, Objectives, Perspectives topic. During the meeting, Mrs. Temmes mentioned the peculiarities of the civil servants training in Finland, main directions of her institutes activity, as well as the experience of cooperation with the Ukrainian partners, particularly, the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing bilateral professional contacts between the institutions, including publications exchange, organizing the Finnish specialists speeches at the Institute, holding joint communicative events.






World Bank delegation visited the Institute

On September 22, the World Bank delegation arrived to ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine with a working visit.

This summer, postgraduate students of ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine completed a scientific internship at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer.








Bialystok University delegation visited the Institute

On June 27, 2017, a delegation from Bialystok University (Poland) held a working visit to the Institute. A representative of the institute visited the Days of Hungary in Odessa

On 27 May 2017, the Head of the International Relations Sector Andrii Maiev, on behalf of the director of the institute visited the official opening of the Days of Hungary, which was held in the Odessa City Garden. At the beginning of the ceremony, the prominent delegates spoke to the audience: the ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine Erno Keskeny, the representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Rzhepishevskiy, and the president of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce Sandor Gelb. In the welcoming speeches, it was noted that the Days of Hungary enable the residents of our city to learn more about the traditions and culture of this country, so that it will strengthen the mutual understanding and good relations between the Hungarian and Ukrainian people. At the end of the official part of the ceremony, Hungarian musicians and dancers presented their traditional performances, and everybody had the opportunity to buy souvenirs and taste traditional Hungarian dishes.




The Institutes Director Mykola Izha spoke at the international conference in Chisinau, Moldova

On May 19, 2017, the Institutes Director Prof. Mykola Izha and the Institutes Civil Council member, Ukrainian Parliaments III, VI and VII Convocation Deputy Mr. Sergiy Grynevetskyy took part in the International Theory and Practice of Public Administration Conference in Chisinau City (Moldova). The scientific forum having been held at the Public Administration Academy was participated by the Republics leading scientists and practical public administrators, as well as the foreign guests from Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Federal Republic of Germany, Romania, and Quatar.

Within the framework of cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Iasi, Romania), representatives of our institute participated in international conferences that were held at the Romanian educational institution on May 19, 2017.








Representatives of the institutes participated in an international summer school in the city of Berlin

From 14 to 24 May 2017, 3 representatives of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine were in Berlin (FRG) to take part in the summer school Europe: Integration and/or Disintegration, which was carried out by Berlin Higher School of Economics and Law with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The participants of the program consisted of 16 young Ukrainian specialists from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Odessa, who were selected on a competitive basis. All activities were conducted exclusively in English under the guidance of moderators who were professors of German, Polish and Ukrainian higher educational institutions.




Representatives of the institute attended the concert European Music in the Ottoman Palace

On 19 May 2017, the concert European Music in the Ottoman Palace was hosted at the Odessa State Philharmony and presented by the Turkish conductor Dr. Emre Araci with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra. The arrival of this renowned Turkish conductor to our city was organized by the Turkish Consulate General to Ukraine in the city of Odessa within the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Ukraine.





The Ukrainian-Turkish round-table took place in the institute

On 04 May 2017, the Ukrainian-Turkish round-table took place in the institute on the topic: Security and Cooperation in the Black Sea Region: Historical Background and Current Challenges. The participants of the event, being initiated by the Turkish Consulate General in Odessa, consisted of Turkish diplomats, scholars and representatives of public authorities of the Odessa region, as well as employees, master and graduate students of the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Odessa I. Mechnikov National University. The Head of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages of ORIPA NAPA, PhD., assoc. prof., Nataliia Kolisnichenko, moderated the discussion.


The director of the Malopolska School of Public Administration at the Cracow University of Economics visited the institute

On 28 April 2017, the director of the institute, Professor Mykola Izha, met with representatives of the Malopolska School of Public Administration (MSAP) at the Cracow University of Economics: The director of the school, Dr. Krzystof Gluc, and the project manager, Marek Oramus. During the meeting, Dr. Gluc talked about the Cracow University of Economics, one of the leading educational economic-related institutes in Poland with more than 20.000 students being enrolled. Moreover, he provided information on educational, research and advisory activities of the Malopolska School of Public Administration. In particular, Dr. Gluc focused on postgraduate education courses, which are implemented on commercial basis.


XVIII Annual International Conference for Students Modern Management: Models, Strategies, Technologies

On April 27 2017, the XVIII Annual International Conference for Students: Modern Management: Models, Strategies, Technologies took place at the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the NAPA under the President of Ukraine. More than 165 students from Ukraine, but also from Belarus, Romania, Poland and Germany participated in the conference.





Representatives of French educational establishments visit the institute

On 20 April 2017, teachers of educational institutions from the Indre Department (Centre Val-de-Loire Region, France) visited the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine. The French delegation is currently in Ukraine on a study visit in scope of a co-operational project between higher and secondary educational institutions between the Odessa region and the Indre Department, which has already been in progress for 6 years.





Representatives of the institute participated in a meeting with teachers of French educational institutions

On 18 April 2017, a meeting with teachers of educational institutions from the Indre Department (Centre Val-de-Loire Region, France) was held in the Odessa Cultural Centre of Arts and Languages La Pipelette. The French delegation consists of 7 representatives and is currently on a study program in Ukraine, intending to visit the cities of Lviv and Odessa. On behalf of the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the NAPA under the President of Ukraine, A. Maev, Head of the International Relations Department, and T. Butenko, associate professor of the Management of Organisations Department, attended the event.





On April 4-6, 2017, State Servicemens Civil Competences Forming Training Seminar organized by Ukraines State Service Affairs National Agency the beneficiary of The Swiss-Ukrainian Civil Competences Development in Ukraine Project took place in Kyiv

The Institutes representatives took part in the EU grant programs preparation workshop

On March 28, 2017, a grant project preparation workshop in the network of the Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) program named Black Sea Basin 2014-2020 was held in Odessa. The Program is financed by the European Union in the network if the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI).








Institutes representative took part in the festive reception dedicated to the National holiday of Greece

On March 25, 2017, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraines (ORIPA NAPA) International Relations Department Head Mr. Andrii Maiev took part in the festive reception on occasion of the National holiday of Greece. The event was organized by the Consulate General of Greece (the Hellenic Republic) in Odessa, and took place in Renaissance Banquet Hall.




Foreign internship programs presented at the Institute

On March 16, 2017, Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted the international students AIESEC organizations presentation, dedicated to the opportunities and peculiarities of the internship abroad for the Ukrainian students.

Director of the Institute met with Consul General of Turkey in Odessa Mr. Cemil Ufuk Togrul

On March 07, 2017, Director of the Institute Professor Mykola Izha and Head of the International Relations Sector Mr. Andrii Maiev met with Consul General of Turkey in Odessa Mr. Cemil Ufuk Togrul. During the meeting the sides discussed the development of cooperation between the ORIPA NAPA under the President of Ukraine and the Consulate General. In particular, there was reached a preliminary agreement on holding at the Institute of the round table on security and cooperation between Black Sea countries. The event is going to be organized in April-May 2017 with the participation of Turkish diplomats, public authorities representatives, scientists from the Institute and other higher educational establishments.




Institute representative took part in the Business Plans Contest 2017 project presentation

On February 27, 2017, Institutes International Relations Sector Head Mr. Andri Maiev took part in the Business Plans Contest 2017 project presentation, which has taken place in Odessas Bavarian House. The presentation was held by the Ukrainian-Bavarian Management Training Center Executive Secretary Mrs. Svitlana Bogdanova.






The videoconference with the School of the Arts, English and Drama of the Loughborough University (United Kingdom)

The videoconference between the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine (ORIPA) and the School of the Arts, English and Drama of the Loughborough University (United Kingdom) took place on the 16th of February, 2017. The topic of the event was Development of Academic Cooperation in the Field of Cultural and Social Policy. The event was attended by: the director of the Institute Prof. Mykola Izha, the dean of Public Administration faculty Prof. Ella Mamontova, professor of the Chair of Philosophy and Socio-Political Sciences Dr. Sviltana Ovcharenko, the head of the Chair of Ukrainian and Foreign Languages Dr. Nataliia Kolisnichenko, the head of the International Relations Sector Andrii Maiev as well as the teaching staff: Dr. Larysa Kurnosenko. Dr. Akim Litvak and Dr. Nataliia Sokur. The Loughborough University was represented by: Lecturer in Visual Communication Prof. Robert Harland, Lecturer in Literature and Coordinator for the International Activity Prof. Nigel Wood and Research Associate Dr. Antonia Liguori.


The ORIPA NAPA delegation visited Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Iasi, Romania)

On January 31 and February 01, 2017 the delegation of the Odessa Regional Institute for Public Administration of the NAPA under the President of Ukraine visited Alexandru Ioan Cuza University (Iasi, Romania). The delegation consisted of the Dean of Public Administration Faculty Prof. Ella Mamontova, the Dean of Management Faculty Dr. Yuliia Yevstiunina and the Head of International Relations Sector, Dr. Andrii Maiev. The visit was held at the invitation of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, which has been cooperating with the Institute since April 2014 in the framework of the Agreement on Scientific and Educational Cooperation. On January 31, according to the program of the visit, the representatives of the Institute were invited to the round table Public Administration Studies in Ukraine and Romania. The Romanian participants of the event were: the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration Prof. Dinu Airinei, the Deputy Dean for International Relations Dr. Bogdan Zugravu, the Head of Finance and Public Administration Department Prof. Ovidiu Stoica and teaching staff. Professor Airinei warmly welcomed the delegation, presented Alexandru Ioan Cuza University as well as his faculty, which has about 7000 students and is the largest among the 15 faculties of the University. The members of the Ukrainian delegation warmly thanked for the opportunity to visit the University and passed best wishes and hopes for further development of cooperation on behalf of the ORIPA NAPA administration board. Dr. A. Maiev made a presentation on the specifics of civil servants training in our country and the main activities of the Institute.

On January the 12th 2017, The Director of the Institute prof. Mykola Izha and the Head of the International Relations Sector Mr. Andrii Maiev took part in the official reception on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ukraine.
